hmmm okay... im starting to think i should take back what I said about him maybe just having these "injuries" so they didnt have to work an old vet like him through and entire TC so that he was fresh for the season... Now im starting to see that he is indeed having problems, and im starting to get concerned now. We need to have him out there.

Don't buy into this article too much.

Sparano downplayed it and his play on Saturday did not suggest any major problems. Looks like another case of a lazy columnist making a mountain out of a mole hill and hoping that his speculation comes true.

I hope he keeps his head and is smart. I would rather him be smart and come in healthy than be dumb and hurt himself really bad. I like JP for his great leadership abilities. He can still be a leader during all this, he just might have to do it on the side lines. Very unfortunate for him, and I feel bad for him.

Ok, the source of the article is Salguero...From there you can take a grain of salt...funny thing, they made a big deal about "ending of a career" yet there was no mention of the injury being career threatening ??

Not having Porter would just be another blow to this team...he was really coming on strong the last half of last season and we were all looking forward to him being put back at his natural position this year...

Trying to turn this into a positive as best I can... Merling getting the reps with the second team could be huge for his growth this season.

If it was career threatening then I would think he would have surgery and miss time, even if it was the whole year. That way he would be around next year when we're more competitive. I'm not ready to panic about this just yet.

Rey Maualuga seems more likely and IMO the better pick.

Salguero is just making crap up to get people to read his article, no where did it say his injury is career threatning. I'm not worried about this and expect him to be out there come week 1.

if the trade out for losing Porter is getting Laurinaitis in the next draft, i'll take that every day of the week and twice on Sunday.

Porter's character issues make him one of my least favorite Dolphins.

Moses may not even make this team at this point. Regarding Porter, he'll be gone after the '09 season imo unless he's traded before that.
