Vader for beating Predator and Terminator but Maximus beating Batman is also a big one.

 

Vader for sure....had the toughest road......and it ends here with lee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

To me Vader really faced one true bad *** in the Terminator (and even he was defeated by a pathetic human). I don't consider the rest of his competition in the rounds as to tough. Bond is really no bad ***. He got his nuts whacked with a rope and knot. The Cloverfield monster is pretty bad *** since we don't know if it was defeated or not, but it's too new to really consider all that bad ***. And the Predator was beaten by the Governator and Danny Glover.

I'd say Maximus. He beat a very tough Bourne in the first round and finished off Batman in a huge upset IMO.

 

Vader beat two non-humans which kinda softens his road for me...although I guess techincally he's not human either... what was the question?

I'd say Maximus had the toughest road. Beating Batman was a big upset to me. Bourne is a hell of a first round opponent. Jules and Kilgore aren't shabby. But I went with Rambo and Lee.

 

now that I'm thinking about it, that probably makes him the baddest *** of all. This of course happened right after reaching double 0 status, so every movie made pre Casino Royale we'd have to think of Bond surviving that tragedy and doing better than John Wayne Bobbet's porn career. Bond maybe put Wilt Chamberlain's conquests to shame. Maybe he should have been the baddest ***.

If I were stack ranking the toughest to easiest roads, I'd probably go with Vader as the toughest, Maximus Next, Rambo after that, and Lee after that. Tough matchups all the way around though, really.

 

I voted for Bourne too, but to be fair, this is about TV/movie badasses. The Robert Ludlum novel creation could indeed kick some serious ***. The movie Matt Damon character...not as much. I think that's the difference.

 

I would agree with that ranking. I really thought Batman was coming out of that region. He should have, actually. But, hey, vox populi.

Going by the quality of people eliminated.
Maximus: IMO hasn't killed off any hard-core badasses. In my book Jules Winnfield was probably the baddest, but Bourne, Batman and Kilgore are heroes in their movies which reduces their badass factor. Anyone who's studied Shakespeare knows that its the villains who get the great lines (Richard III, Macbeth, Iago).
Rambo: No hard-core badasses killed off either. My vore for easiest route to the final four.
Lee: King Leonadis and Dirty Harry would be fully making the final four.
Darth Vader: Has eliminated two great monster villains in the Predator and the Terminator.

 

yep, gotta agree there... just imagingin a Maximus vs Batman brawl kinda makes me envision that moment in the movie where Maximus just finished doing his thing, and the whole arena is silent, stunned, even shocked... he looks up to the crowd and yells;

"are you not entertained?!?!"

cause that would be one helluva brawl!

 

and maximus is russell freakin crowe... russell would get his *** kicked in a bar fight with Matt Damon. ;) But we're not talking about the actors, we're talking about the characters. Maximus was a bad-*** back in the paleolithic era (kidding), but against the $20M war machine? Damon would smoke him in .02 microseconds!

i actually think that the movie was pretty true to how bad-*** Ludlum intended. Its not his fault that we have these pre-conceived notions about Matt Damon due to his earlier work. I realize its already over and done with, but i'll maintain that Damon is the all-time bad-*** in this tourney :up:

Poor Lee. Im gonna chalk this up to Star Wars just being so much more popular than Kung Fu films. Im a huge SW guy dont get me wrong, but Lee's character in Enter the Dragon was more badass than Vader every was.

 

maximus tougher then rambo........pfffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffft

 

rambo was all about stealth and hiding, maximus killed a bunch of guys chained to another person in the middle of a arena (no where to hide) he was a badass
