Creative play calling is great, but I'd rather not rely on being cute. I want our players developed well and trained well, so that they can then execute smart play calls over and over successfully. Historically, that's been the game plan from the Shanahan/Kubiak/Shanahan offense. Make it look complicated to the other team, but basically run the same handful of plays at them most of the time, out of different looks.

Running the ball becomes much easier when you’re working with one of the top 3 OL’s in the NFL. If he run the ball effectively with our OL, then I’ll start using the term genius.
