I'm not sure how well you're expecting the team to do with a rookie QB, but you may want to check.

Well, the below average online play is somewhat expected. Stacking the box hampers the running game and creates blocking indecision( pressure on online) why Lamar Miller hasn't played much is he hasn't excelled in picking up the blitz, WR's that cannot stretch the field, and a new offensive system and different blocking scheme.... and a rookie QB with too much on his shoulders. Yes, it's on Ireland that we have a lack of talent... But there are reasons for the offensive woes. My biggest keys are new offensive system for oline and poor WR talent.

when we start the gameplanning were starting with an inherent disadvantage, lack of space, and inability to make the defense play the entire field..wind up playing against unfair fronts in the run game.

There was no problem with the offensive line in 2008 when its talent wasn't significantly better, Chad Pennington had a 97 QB rating, and the only deep threat was Ted Ginn, who caught only 5 passes on the season that were thrown at least 21 yards in the air.

Brian Hartline by contrast already has 7 such catches of passes that were thrown at least 21 yards in the air, and we're through only 10 games, yet the team is thought to lack someone who can "stretch the field."

The problem is the limitations imposed upon an offense by a rookie QB IMO, and that's supported by all of the available objective data. Put the 2008 version of Chad Pennington on the field and the result would be entirely different IMO. Stack the box on him and he'll move you methodically down the field with his accuracy and decision-making, two things Ryan Tannehill doesn't have anywhere near as much of at this point in his career.

Like I said, when that thread's done, I'll know exactly whom to have on my ignore list. :)

So, whoever doesn't agree with your opinions gets put on ignore?

That sounds like something only you are saying, not me, but thanks for phrasing it in the form of a question rather than simply stating it outright. :)

Your table shows up as code in tapatalk. As to the rest of that thread....I could reasonably draw several conclusions.

I stated it like a question, because it is a question.
I don't know what your criteria is for putting people on ignore, but is sounds like what I suggested. Just sayin'.

The criterion is being impervious to objective data and narcissistically believing one's own personal opinions to be the gospel par none.

    Fair enough.
Thing is, I've read through said thread (nice post BTW, that is some good work and research assuming you did it yourself).
But I still don't think Tannehill has the weapons around him to be successful. This team has average (at best) talent at pretty much every position. And nobody on offense that makes a defense gameplan extensively for.

Except Tannehill isn't operating in a brand new offense. He ran this offense in college as a WR and a QB and should be comfortable, if not well versed in the intricacies of it. He should be at that point in this offense, but yet he isn't. :headscratch:

And that's probably why he has a 70 QB rating instead of something much lower, but he's still adjusting to the speed of the game, which is an adjustment so many players have remarked about that it should regarded as an objective truth IMO.

I don't disagree with that, I just wish it was happening faster is all.

All the more reason our offense should be better. Which it probably would be if we had any talent on that side of the ball.
