That's where a good General Manager has to step in and not create that kind of dilemma for the coaching staff, by acquiring players that fit better while being more talented. Just my opinion.

You can certainly see Sherman's dilemma. How is he supposed to take Davone Bess or Brian Hartline off the field for someone like Marlon Moore or Rishard Matthews, when Bess and Hartline are such good and successful route runners and pass catchers? Yet, the combination of Bess and Hartline is a losing combination from a fit standpoint, neither of them can challenge a defense deep consistently enough to expand the defense's spacing.

It says something when guy's like Philbin and Sherman don't even feel comfortable going with 4 WR's. That, to me, is pretty damning.

It might not have been an indictment of the receivers unit though. It may have been more of an indictment on the OL and QB.

I think the two problems with the running game are pretty well linked. There's too much penetration on run plays, but teams have pretty much been able to crash the front side of zone plays with impunity because our backs aren't seeing the cutback lanes that happen as a result.

Of the two, I think JJerry should be kept, he offers more flexibility and maybe should be our swing tackle/guard replacing Garner.

Richie I is overpaid and not very good at what the offense is trying to do imo.

John Jerry has been a pretty adequate starting Guard. There's nothing to recommend him this year, but if he's your worst player on your offensive line, you're in pretty good shape.

I don't have the stats but it sure as Hell seems a high % of the pressures and sacks come with an empty backfield.

He did fairly well at LT in 2011 as well, Richie I is more of a mauler than a new style LG, he's just so slow to react on inside passrushes it's almost embarrassing to watch.

As an aside, Thigpen has as many Td's are our two starting Wr's, would like to see him in the offense.

so simple for this lard ***..either get it right as a professional athlete getting paid to play a game and to take care of your body ( they both go hand in hand ya know), or get married to some cake..

I'm so over any football players who don't understand this elementary concept..

Really I think the "penetration" problem is a product of the weakness at the tight end position.

When you can't keep opposing linebackers and safeties honest in coverage against your tight ends, they're free to play the running game almost exclusively.

That's true, but I also think you're going to have at worst a pretty average line where no one is nearly single-handedly torpedoing aspects of gameplay.

After going over some game tape it's really a unit thing. On one play it's a full back missing a block on another it the OT, on another it's a OG or a TE.

Tannehill has had some accuracy issues also the last couple of games. It's a little under thrown on one pass, over thrown on another or too far in front on another. And i'm only talking about on short throws. He really should be spot on with those.

Tannehill also tends to throw too much to the far right.

About one-third of all throws are targeted there. I see defensive coverages rolling that way.

The good thing is that on the far left Tannehill almost always has an isolation there. Ideally you have a WR one on one with a corner there and your WR should be good enough to win that match up most of the time...(like as in basketball). The problem is Bess is not a boundry receiver. He is not going to win that due to his size and speed. I've seen them go 4 wide and even 5 wide with Marlon Moore and Matthews on the wide left but Tannehill does't target them a lot. He is either not comfortable with them or he just doesn't trust himself.

He really should throw to the middle a lot more though. He's more accurate there but rarely targets that area.

Possibly...I think the left side of the field needs to be attacked more. The coverage rolls to the offenses' right side because Tannehill likes that area (the SS comes into the box this side). Because Fasano is predominantly lined up on the right he doesn't see a lot of space. There's a lot of traffic there.

If Tannehill keeps the coverages honest and has some success on the wide left side he could force the coverage to be more balanced. Then the TE could find more space. A better pass catching TE probably couldn't do much more without space. However with a bit more space you would want him to win one on one match ups against OLBs.

All concerns I had with Ryan liking throwing outside to begin with, then beginning to roll right a lot to avoid pocket pressure.

This. Our G's are not suited for Philbins offense. Quite frankly, I'm just tired of Incognito. His personal foul 2 weeks ago cost us a red zone opportunity. He needs to go.

That's what's so frustrating about the Dolphins. The ONE area of this team that should be a strength, our OL, isn't. We've invested too much money and too many draft picks for them to play as bad as they do.

We really have put RTH in a tough position. He doesn't have playmakers at WR and he doesn't have a running game to take some of the pressure off of him.

They're playing poorly because they're ill-suited to the scheme. If the scheme were man blocking like it used to be, they'd be fine.

This is part of the growing pains involved in a regime change, when schemes are changed and some personnel don't fit the new scheme. It doesn't necessarily mean anyone has done a bad job with the roster in the past. This is a transition period.

For me, I'm at the point where a shuffle is in order, seeing the same poor play week after week and I've had about enough.

Philbin needs to show leadership here and bench some people and make it clear to others it does not matter where the hell they were drafted, you will sit down if you do not know you job.

JTrain as well, if it came down to it sit him and put Mastrud or Clay at FB, or even Yeatman, to many missed blocks from that fella
