I mean really I guess it doesn't matter what THEY pay, but I don't see him being worth even that much personally.

The Bears weren't going to let Cutler twist in the wind as he careened toward free agency in March. Now, at least on paper, they have their strong-armed franchise quarterback locked up through 2020, his age-37 season. It's a bold move from GM Phil Emery, as Cutler has been to the playoffs just once in his eight-year career and has a mediocre 56-48 career regular season record. But in his first year under quarterback whisperer Marc Trestman, Cutler posted five-year highs in passer rating (89.2), yards per game (238.3) and completion percentage (63.1). There's still reason to believe he can become elite and the Bears have moved their chips to the middle to bet on it.

Bears going ham with the checkbook........

Bears re-signed LG Matt Slauson to a four-year contract.

A key piece of the Bears' resurgent offensive line, Slauson played every single snap at left guard this season and graded out 37th among 78 qualifiers in Pro Football Focus' ranks. His return gives continuity to a unit that allowed just 30 sacks this season, fourth-best in the league.

Bears re-signed CB Tim Jennings to a four-year contract.

Jennings was forced to step in as the Bears' top corner as Charles Tillman missed eight games. The 30-year-old handled himself exceptionally, grading out 15th among 109 qualifying corners per Pro Football Focus. With Tillman heading for unrestricted free agency, Jennings may very well be forced into the No. 1 corner job again.
