I believe Dallas was interested in the off season, maybe now with Romo out 4 to 5 weeks, the look at Beck again?
I don't put much stock in these rumors. But am I wrong in thinking Dallas offered us some sort of late round pick for John Beck in the preseason? Now, Tony Romo's hurt four four weeks with a broken finger, and they're going with Brad Johnson (I think it's Johnson). I'm not on the bandwagon of trading John Beck, but I do wonder if for Dallas, his stock might have gone up. You wonder if the FO might hang the carrot one more time.
Good point. That column was probably posted before the news that Romo would be out 4-5 weeks had been released.
they're dying out like the dinosaurs. in the offseason he was our future and hands off! before the season started they would have demanded a 2nd round pick, now even the most diehard will settle for a 4th. we may be able to get a 6th rounder for him if someone was interested
Well, it only makes sense at this point. I still like Beck, but they've (Tunaland and co.) have decided on who our future QB is. Beck is the odd man out...they can dump him and for about the same money pay a decrepit old veteran to sit behind Henne or they can sign an UDFA to sit for even cheaper... The problem is that the most likely team for him to go to is probably the Ravens, but they already have their share of inexperienced, unproven QBs with Flacco and Smith. Flacco is their guy, no doubt and Smith has played some, about the same as Beck... Who else would really want him ?? Before the Romo injury you might say Dallas. Detroit ?? I don't see anyone looking for an inexperienced QB even if he has some upside...
Adam...obviously that decision was made by the staff...you had nothing to do with it, nor did I or any 'dinosaur' on this board...the fact still is that he didn't get the shot he needed to prove anything here. No problem now because Henne is clearly the choice and may or may not be better than Beck...we don't know...
well i was referring to people opposed to trading Beck. In the offseason the majority wouldve reacted like you're nuts if you proposed that. Trust me I know from personal experience lol. But now, even the most diehard supporter has resigned himself to the fact that his days here are numbered
Agreed, and if we can get something for him...so be it...I'm sure that Tunaland and co. despite having a 'plan' for this team last offseason, never in their wildest imaginations, thought CP would be available to us when he was...It was a move that probably moved their plans up by a year in the development of this team...
