One month until players report in Miami, so let's see who has the best Lb corps in the AFC East.
Patriots..Adalius Thomas, Jerod Mayo, Ted Bruschi, Brian Crable
Jets...Calvin Pace, Barton, Bart Scott, Thomas
Bills..Keith Ellison, Paul Posluzsney, Kawika Mitchel
Phins...Matt Roth, Channing Crowder, Akin Ayodele, Joey Porter
I could have the Bills line up wrong, I "think" they still run the 4-3 though, and I'm not certain if Barton or Harris left the Jets and went to Cleveland.

Damn you have some names messed up in that poll padre. You must be bad with names.
Anyways, I'm going with the Jets here. Calvin Pace, Bryan Thomas/Vernon Gholston are the Outside guys, and although Miami has the best OLB by himself in Porter and the Patriots a close second with Adalius Thomas, the Jets have the better combination of both OLB's slightly. With Jason Taylor back in Miami, that could very well change.
When it comes to ILB, it isn't even close, the Jets trump everyone with Bart Scott and the young stud David Harris.PS17 likes this. -
miami.....17 1/2 sacks in porter and 100+ tackles in crowder gives us the edge imo and jt

On the inside, to me all four players are a bit underwhelming the truth be known,.
The Pats are down in Bills country, Mayo is probably their most dynamic LB the rest of their crew is not particularly noteworthy.
Back to Pace and Thomas, they are solid OLB's, I'll give them that much, but IMO they are good for around 9 sacks each, max.

Cheap shot...cheap shot..
Seriously though I hadn't notice you around lately, PS17 had been carrying the water on the AFC East thread.
As for the Jets v Phins, I think we have the edge in depth and production so far, and DC Pasqualoni has the creativity needed to deploy them. -
Seeing that neither Crowder or Ayodele would start on the Jets or Pats, I don't see how anyone could choose Miami. Taylor is a situational passrusher at this point in his career and Wake is a total unknown, so they aren't much of a factor either IMO. It's a tough call between the Pats and the Jets, but NY gets my vote.

The edge in depth I'm not really buying, I think both teams have some piss poor depth, IMO. -

This is a pretty close one but ill go with the phins.

Hate to say it, but I had to go with the Patriots.
They've got a great young guy in Mayo, a very solid vet in Bruschi, and Mr. Versatility with Adalius Thomas.
Don't forget that they added Tyrone McKenzie through the draft, and it's entirely within the realm of possibility he ends up starting or at least making an impact for them at OLB.Larryfinfan likes this. -

i guess if you mean....no fumbles.....no ints......and only 75 tackles......is more plays then crowders 113 tackles....92 solo....and a ff.....but to each his own -
-
Where were the tackles made is the key.
Bruschi is way more important and skilled than Crowder. -
if tackles "arent everything" then what is less of that "not the whole story" mean?!late again likes this. -
-
what is more important....crowder making a solo tackle 5 yards down the field....
or bruschi not making the tackle AT ALL????
i would take a guy thats always around the ball on my team
crowder-92 solo
bruschi - 38 solo -

One of my favorite Jets while he was here though, very much so. I'm surprised I never purchased his jersey.Sethdaddy8 likes this. -

As for the Pats, McKenzie is out for the season, Thomas never really produces (I'd think Roth's numbers were close to A thomas's) and they have no OLB who can pass rush unless 2nd yr rookie Crable can. -
Heck A thomas had a whopping 34 tackles last season before he broke his arm, career wise, he had his best seasons with...the Ravens
Stats wise our Lb's performed better then any other group in the AFC East. -
Crowder is a good starter, but Ayodele is what he is... We have the best OLBs but our ILB is what kills is. After the Bart Scott signing, the Jets have the best LB squad in the East. Calvin Pace did pretty well and if Gholston pans out, they'll have a sick linebacker corp for years.
