    1) The quality of competition was lower
    2) The heat and humidity advantage
    3) Jon Martin showed significant improvement and allowed the O-line to play well
    4) Hartline is healthy and had practice
    5) Sherman fed Bush
    6) Sherman moved Tannehill more (rollouts, bootlegs, etc)

Now...if Anthony Armstrong can learn the playbook.....you get an added speed dimension....few weeks of offense like this....all the sudden....we are gonna be the talk of the NFL

I actually thought the line played a lot more poorly during a great percentage of the game than they did last week. They picked it up in the third quarter again thankfully. But they got handled for a while and I didn't feel they were really handled that way at all last week.

The biggest difference to me was that there were no ridiculous flurries of unforced turnovers causing us to lose offensive balance.

I think you attribute that to:
    1) No Watt
    2) Martin doing a better job keeping his man under control
    3) Slightly better eye discipline by Tanny (though he still locked on. maybe practice him blindfolded. actually, I bet that could work with timing patterns. lol.)
    4) Sherman moving the pocket, letting Tanny's legs off the leash

Biggest difference: The Raiders are nowhere near as good as the Texans.

The biggest difference is the pink American Eagle boxer briefs that I wore because my girlfriend likes them. Time to find out if they are the reason we won. Needless to say, i will be wearing them next week!

Definitely. Though on number three I still say on short passes like that you generally don't look off. You read the defense and determine if your initial target will be open, lock on and make the throw. On the few intermediate passes I thought Tanny did a great job of moving his eyes around.

I agree with all the other points too. Also Oakland looked more intent on pressuring Tannehill rather than sitting back hoping they could make deflections. Which I think is smart...I doubt you see another game quite like the Houston game in Ryans career.

The biggest difference offensively IMO was having a reliable target (Hartline) in the passing game in the intermediate range.

That enabled us to get first downs, extend drives, and keep running the ball on early downs, which ultimately controlled the game.

Let's not forget Hartline was going up against corners who IMO shouldn't even be dime guys. I expect him to beat them.

We have a great rushing offense and run defense, but that was never something I questioned. But our secondary will still make Mark Sanchez look like Joe Montana, which is always dangerous. Next week should be interesting. People underestimate the Jets defense still. Should be low scoring, defense needs to step up and try to get some turnovers. Maybe those dark green jerseys will gas them.

The difference between this week and last week in the simplest of terms: Houston is a good team, Oakland sucks.

MY favorite moment of the game was when Hartline caught his millionth curl/out of the game and the Raiders DB coach is going INSANE on the sideline telling the DB to squat on the routes.

No ****. You would think a team has never traveled across country and won a football game.
It is a ridiculous thought to think that was the reason we won.

I don't wanna hear anything about "West coast traveling east" when a team that's favored to win loses by TWENTY-THREE. Come on already.

Not to mention teams will even tell you it's bunk. The West has been a pretty bad division for a long while now and the East has been relatively good. Plus any team at home has an advantage.

And then shortly after that (well, actually after 2 more completions to Hartline on the curl/out), Tannehill goes to the other side to Bess. I actually started laughing harder at the point.

I saw the Raiders DB coach jawing at the DB on two occasions on that drive. I was loving it. Not to mention, how was he going to squat on the route when the ball placement was so damn good and the ball was in the air before Hartline made his break. Gone are the days of cringing when an out route is thrown (ie... Fielder) and knowing it is going for 6 in the other direction.

You know, you only have to skip over the post. Or, if highlighting that particular reality angers you that much, just add me to your ignore list and go about your day. Don't sit there and refer to things I post as garbage, especially without provocation.

No, it's not ridiculous at all. Pacific teams traveling to the eastern time zone have an abysmal win percentage. That's not to say Pacific teams can't win on the east coast, it's just to say that you would be correct to expect to win a Dolphins home game where the opponent is a Pacific team. For example, the Seahawks in a few weeks.

You referred to something I posted as garbage, even after you were shown numbers in another thread to back up the assertion. That your comeback is still "garbage" means you really shouldn't reply the next time one of my posts refers to the effects of travel upon the human body.

See the receiver Tanny. Be the receiver. The Zen philosopher, Basho, once wrote:

Even though it was against two various backup corners, and Hartline ran only one deeper route to keep him honest, I'm surprised we were able to go to the well so often, when it came to those out routes to Hartline.
It was nice to see Hartline have a very good game, but one should consider the quality of corners he was going against when it comes to how often to expect a similar performance in upcoming weeks.
It won't be so easy next week against Cromartie or Revis (if he is back).

Even when we win you find a way to essentially crap on the team. Almost sounds like you're disappointed we didn't lose.
There are Jets, Bills, and Pats fans who could take lessons from you on how to rag on Miami. Maybe you could run a little side business. :wink2:

We're 5th in the NFL right now with 53 YPG allowed. I think Oakland had 23 rushing yards today. That list isn't updated fully yet as San Francisco will rise up it with their game tonight. Either way, that's one part of Miami's D I'm not worried about. Pass-rush and coverage, not so much.
