I really wish these directors/writers of today would come up with new ideas rather than screwing with the classics.
Hollywood is utterly ridiculous. I really missed my calling in life. I should have been either a studio exec or a writer for these studios. They make vast amounts of money putting out unoriginal crap that requires little creativity or hard work. Its just amazing. They are truly living the American Dream: do nothing and get paid for it.
ehem... it is actually so ridiculously hard to crack that system. And I mean so utterly ridiculously hard, plus you know they will destroy everything you care for, and they will make you write idiot things. Also it is not like writers make a lot of the movies' money... not as easy as it seems (its hard to be bad, when everyone is making you be as bad as can be)
First the New Kids on the Block are re-bringing the suck, now Bill & Ted are going to appear again? Is this some strange time warp were everything crappy from the 80's get's a new lease on life? What next, poodle hair makes a comeback or they remake Ferris Bueller's day off and it sucks? Now there was a sequel planned for Wall Street called "Money Never Sleeps" but oh no, couldn't make that one, Bill & Ted is a much better idea...
I didn't mean to suggest I could just move out to Hollywood and crack the business easily. I just meant I wish I could be in the situation where I could do the idiot stuff they make you do and profit off of it.
I wouldn't mind seeing a revisit of the original Bill and Ted, but everything about this remake just screams "bad idea." Has there ever been a remake that was better than the original? Bill and Ted is by no means a critically acclaimed classic, but it's a fun movie that I really enjoyed during my childhood - why mess with that? This just sounds like a horrible idea. Let's hope it doesn't actually doesn't happen.
Well, we'll just have to agree to disagree. As a kid I loved these films and though they may not have quite the same impact they once did on me when I was young they still hold as many memories, which in my book constitutes a classic. The next thing you know, someone is going to get the great idea to remake the movie Labyrinth and replace David Bowie as Jareth.
The only thing that will be worse than this is the "Munsters" movie starring the Wayans Brothers and the remake of "Back to School" with Cedric the Entertainer.
i hate when they do that as well.....i don't think it will bode well. why doesn't anyone ever listen to if it's not broke don't fix it?
