we've talked about this ad nauseum ... that is a problem with our WR corps in general .... dominating the ball while it is in the air ...
all better passing offenses do exactly that ... go after the ball and catch it ... then worry about YAC.
i know we all want YAC, but if you don't catch the ball - you don't need YAC, and you don't move the chains.dolfan7171 likes this. -
I was glad to see Brian Hartline go up and dominate the ball on the TD in the corner of the end zone.
That was the way to do it.
We have a rookie doing what Ginn should be doing.
I give up on Ted Ginn. Did you see the route over the middle of the field where he was knocked off the route twice. He should be physical enough to overcome that.
Tedd is a push-over with hands of concrete.Xeticus, dolfan7171, eric and 1 other person like this. -

Perhaps we should show him tape from the game he played in week 17 vs the Jets? The game where he was aggressive and went after the ball.

He makes the catch, he runs out of bounds or curls into the fetal position within a fraction of a second if a defender is near.
Put him on a track where there is no contact and nowhere to go but straight and he's a star.
On a football fieldl he'll never get near that. -
If he can learn to redevelop his hands, that isn't the biggest knock. There are a ton of receivers who do not fight. No need to go down the list. Unfortunately, Ginn can't catch reliablly right now (judging from the replay he jumped too early).

He was a terrible pick.....nothings changed.
I hope they find a way to move him in the off season. Let ppl make excuses for him on a different team's forum...lolXeticus likes this. -

I have said as much...
It isn't like it is a secret. -
He compares to Marvin Harrison---if he ever develops. Find me one time Starvin Marvin looked for contact, shook 4 tacklers and then stiff armed hsi way to the endzone.
Marvin was known for being a run OB reciever, and eh was one of the best.
Puss-Face Ginn needs to learn to be confident in his hands, then turn up field or OB. -
He "fought" thru traffic?.....
He got pushed around like a little girl and then shocked us by actually catching the football.
Dwell? on Ted Ginn........only if dwell means urinate in another language -

Harrison was also a great route runner, had a great knack for getting open and had incredible hands......three things Ginn doesn't have :lol:adamprez2003, eric, RunRickyRun and 3 others like this. -

He used to call terry glen she. I can't imagine what he calls ginn behind closed doors.
I was at the game on sunday and he can't even beat 1-1 coverage.dolfan7171 and Crappy Tipper like this. -
His speed kills, he can learn to run a better route (maybe Parcells should come down and knock him around a bit, maybe call Ginn She) and he can learn to catch better (not incredible though).
Only problem is, I doubt he has any desire.
If only his father could catch, or his mother could pass protect.
BTW- I hate Ginn, but I also feel more time is what he needs. I'd hate to give up on him, and he develops into a top flight reciever (Wes Welker when he was with the Chargers/Falcons, then came to us, then went to NE). -
I've been hangin in there with ginn for a long time, mainly because of speed and how important that speed is for what were trying to accomplish thru the run game, however, a weakness that i always worried about inhibiting him, is the apex for his bad performance imo, and that is, his body is not made for this game...when he was crossing the field on that play, it looked like the defense knew exactly what their doing, bully the scrawny kid....
