What's kind of funny is that they site training camp as opening a week earlier as an excuse for maintaining "negotiating trends of recent years" , eg: not having your draft picks signed in time for training camp.
So then....what was the excuse for all the years prior to this year?
Also, if they had a smart FO wouldn't you think that they would make the connection between early training camp start and early draft pick signings?
"Hmm... we're starting a week early - hey maybe we should start contract negotiating early".
