The Bills got utterly pounded by the Jets today and it wasn't even as close as the score suggested. It was humiliating.
However, during the "post-game show" on 97 Rock (Buffalo radio station) someone asked Bills QB Ryan Fitzpatrick what he thought about the other games in the division this week.
He said now that he has faced both the Jets and the Pats, the Jets are a far superior team and that the Dolphins should have no problem with the Pat's defense. He said that they were horrible, and he expects the Dolphins to win.

Guy has no right calling anyone horrible, especially someone else's defense. Buffalo is putrid.Moves, Dolphins1Beatles, and 4 others like this.

I agree with that . But I was rooting for them to beat the Jets today.Boik14 and dolfan7171 like this. -
Colorado Dolfan ...dirty drownin' man?
I think that's the point... As putrid as Buffalo's offense is, they were able to put 30 on the Pats. :pity:DolfanTom likes this. -
Their defense is worse than their offense. Miami is the only team that hasn't lit them up like a Christmas tree.
-
-
But they are horrible....... so what's the problem?
If anyone on this planet is deserving of making a statement like this, I think it's the mediocre QB of a team who faced NE and posted 247 yards, 8.8 ave, 2 TDs, and a 92 rating against them. :wink2:Boik14 and Colorado Dolfan like this. -
And what did the Jets light up the first game of the year? You guys needed help screwing in a lightbulb vs Baltimore.
So I guess it's only armchair fans who have the right to call one of the worst defenses in the NFL horrible. :glare:DolfanTom, , Tin Indian and 3 others like this. -
Sort of an odd thing to say on public radio...just saying it so blunt and all.

Since when did 8 point losses become almost wins?
Buffalo's offense scored 23 points against NE. Give them a cookie. -
Every game is different. Especially in the division.
Any of these teams can beat each other at any time.
Buffalo being the exception at the moment. -
Football etiquette is a cruel mistress *****...
-
I just found it odd that an NFL player on arguably the worst team in the NFL, with a putrid defense, would publicly call another team horrible. Color me nutty.ToddsPhins likes this.
-
I tried......... but Kris Jenkins ate it instead. -
Exactly. Buffalo looks like they would have a hard time beating a college team and here is there QB publicly saying one of the teams that beat them by 8 has a horrible defense. That's beyond odd if you ask me.
-
-
I agree that it's pretty ballsy, but in all fairness, he was asked the question..... so I respect him for saying the non PC answer and telling it how he sees it. (doesn't mean I think that's smart to say against a team you still have to play 1 more time though )
-
That's not nuts.... Just logical common sense.
He was answering in frustration I'll bet. -
dolphins should beat patriots by someone who's seen them both up close and personal. seems like common sense to me. he should have followed it up with and the dolphins will win their rematch with the jets

If you watched the game? He was lighting them up in the second half so maybe he knows something? -
Henne had a better game against the Jets than Fitz did against NE. You won't hear Henne publicly stating the Jets defense is terrible, no matter what question is asked of him.
-
Well, that is one Qb's opinion, granted it is based on personal experience.
The thing to keep in mind is Teams change from week to week, injuries, matchups, any number of things cause a team to play poorly one week, great the next.
Scheme and gameplanning makes a huge difference as well.
It is no secret we match up well with the Jets, and they matchup well with the Patriots, but how the 2010 Dolphins matchup with the Pasts remains to be seen.
Don't misunderstand, I'm glad fitzy said that, but in the big picture Phins v Pats, or even Phins v Jets in December is a long way away and much can change. -
Colorado Dolfan ...dirty drownin' man?
He didn't call the team horrible. He called the defense horrible.
...and since his horrible, weak, putrid offense did so well against the Pats D, he knows what he is talking about. :pity:
Was he stupid to say that about a team he's going to have to face again this year? Absolutely. But, honestly, the Pats' D is, so far, proving him right. -
Well, here is the thing, the Pastriots have benched:
Darius Butler in favor of D Arrington
Brandon Merriweather in favor of James Sanders
Will that make the Defense better?
No one knows, and neither does Fitzy. -
That's because the Jets have a great defense...but it is no match for Robo-fin!BlameItOnTheHenne likes this.
-
Right thing to do or not, he played them recently and I think he might be on to something. Right or not, the NE pass defense has been lousy.
-
Unless finished that statement by saying "I mean, If I can throw for 250 and 2 TD, you know they suck." That would be totally acceptable.:lol:Phinatic425 likes this.
-
I am still flabbergasted by what he said...that takes some fortitude to come out and put it like that in my opinion. Nonetheless, every game is different and I would rather keep pace with the Jets than the Bills.
-
Colorado Dolfan ...dirty drownin' man?
I always run on the assumption that the coaches will play their best players. If they were doing that, then the answer will be "No."
It's going to be different, and harder to gameplan for, but that's it.
The change, honestly, reeks of desperation and a kick in the *** for the previous starters. :up:ToddsPhins likes this. -
In Buffalo's case, it might be more of a matter of frustration, and a player indirectly lashing out without thinking. If Buffalo had beaten NE, it would be entirely different, but sitting at 0-4, he's likely having a hard time showing respect for better team, because he's lost all respect for his own.
The fact its their QB, makes it that much more pathetic. -
I'd rather the Pats not receive any extra motivation.
