Oh darn... Poor Bills. Oh wait.... NOT! The Dolphins will be right back in the hunt for legitimacy if we win this game, though I don't want wins against backups you still have to have a little sigh seeing Schoebel's name on the OUT list!
Jake should be happy as well. I think he plays on Jake's side. I guess we need all the help we can get in this game, so this helps our chances.
They are still a really good team. Hope we take advantage of them on sunday but we will still be in for one heck of a fight.
Sparano said he respects aaron schobel as much as any other pass rusher out there. Thats a big blow for them, i think the team admittedly lacked focus and intensity the past two weeks, if they have learned their lesson then i think we win this game ragardless if buffalo has the better talent.
Shobel being out is big but their starting RG being out is bigger, makes Ferguson being out a little more even for us.
schobel being out is huge for us in my opinion. not that i like to see guys go down with injuries but it sure is nice to see one of their better guys down since we're facing the loss of ferguson and lehan this week.... err.. and well lehan gone for the rest of the year really. nice to even things out a little bit come sunday
Both are really tough losses for Buffalo. Shoebel is an absolute beast and is a very large part of their gameplan, and their current record. This will definately play into our Passing plans, and how much time Penny has in the pocket.
IF we should go out and beat the Bills this week, it would surely be kind of ironic...we go out and beat the 'good' teams and lay eggs against the teams that we should beat ?? Shows our youth and inconsistency...but I'll take the win, even if it shows our "youth and inconsistency" !!
Their C Fowler is also 50/50 for the game. He's horrible, but it makes you wonder how much the backup there sucks if he can't beat out Fowler for the job. Could be an interesting day for the D.
Duke Preston did a great job in Fowler's stead last week against San Diego. Fowler flat out sucks and i hope he is benched in favor of Preston. We will miss Schoebel.
I know Schobel is a high energy player, but he doesn't create much of a pass rush when he's in there. I think you'll miss his overall energy during the game, but as far as a pass rusher he may not be missed all that much. Sacks aren't everything, but he doesn't provide consistent pressure to even rattle the QB on a consistent basis. Now, on the other hand given our lack of anyone to make the Bills respect or passing game this may mean that the O-line has to hold its blocks longer, and the pressure will get there anyways. Any loses on the interior of the O-line are huge for the Bills as Marshawn Lynch is a better inside runner, than outside runner. He can bounce it outside, but he is best between the tackles grinding out yards. If the starting C is out then it may be a push if Ferguson can't go for very long in the game. We will know early whether the replacements on the O-line are playing adequately. It may mean that the Bills rely on shorter passes early to get the Dolphins on their heels.
I was going to say this. Schobel is completely overrated. Even Bills fans think he sucks. He doesnt get consistent pressure. He only has 1 move, an outside speed rush. He gets way too deep a lot of the time, as the tackles just ride him out of the play. He doesnt use any inside moves/swim/spin moves. Just outside speed every time. He is high motor, so a lot of the time he will get a sack running around if the QB holds onto it or scrambles. I agree that Butler's loss is bigger. Their C being out may be a good thing for them, as Fowler is HORRIBLE... lol. Look at him on this play, lol! NFL Video Galleries
uh. i don't know about you but I want wins any legal way the team can get them. even backups at the NFL level are good players.
No doubt. It doesn't matter who is in. That "W" is what matters. I doubt the Pats cared last year that wins against Philly and the Ravens were against back up QBs. And I'm sure no one cared that those wins against us were against a back up QB, back up RBs, OGs, DBs, etc. In fact when the media talks about our 1-15 season, they don't qualify it with "but it was probably due to so many back up players". So yeah, I don't care, either. That said, Porter should/could have a real good day on Sunday.
