    Black Monday

    It has started.

    So far:

    Redskins fire HC Mike Shanahan
    Vikings fire HC Leslie Frazier
    Browns fire HC Rob Chudzinzki
Bucs fire HC Greg Schiano and GM Mark Dominik
    Lions fire HC Jim Schwartz

Added to the Texans firing Gary Kubiak weeks ago.

Will the Dolphins make changes of their own? The more time passes, the less likely changes will be made. Apart from that, it also important to make a decision in a timely manner, because all these teams have been really bad throughout the year and in all likelihood have already started their search for replacement long ago. Dolphins don't want to fall behind in the recruiting if and when they make a decision.

Cleveland made a mistake and really a sad one. The guy loves the Browns, has pictures as a little kid rooting for them, is a damn good coach too. They handicapped him with no talent, McGahee and Campbell as starters for god's sake. They have two first round picks for him to work with next year, a stud WR and tight end. Come on now Cleveland, you done ****ed up there..

If Ross is going to make a move he needs to do it fast. Lots of NFL jobs open now. If he wants to pick his next coach/gm and not get left overs he needs to get going.

No one is taking a job tomorrow.

Hell, the best coach of our era in Belichick was only hired by NE after the NYJs hired their HC. :shifty:

While nobody is going to take a job tomorrow, I do understand your point. I expressed it myself early on in this thread.

Ross moves too slow, this is the NFL, things happen fast, you need to be out in front of things like this if you want to suceeed in this business IMO. This isnt his real estate company or whatever it is he does where he has time to find a project manager, evaluate over a somewhat long period of time, then decide. You need to **** or get off the pot here, and do it in a hurry. Teams are going to start expressing their interest in the available candidates, you can't be left behind. He should be informed with all he needed to know already, and ready to make a decision based on the result of making the playoffs or not. He does have a week to make this choice. Make your decision, carry it out, and start seeking replacements (if necessary) along with everyone else, dont fire them all late after everyone has started interviewing. It just leaves you behind in the already very crowded race for a head coach and/or GM.

The Browns are morons, is anyone surprised? The Dolphins are getting dangerously close, though not quite on that awful Cleveland level yet.

No idea why they got rid of him when the team has NO QB. Not even a mediocre one.

You're a bigger example of what he was talking about. It has nothing to do with him doing things like I would do, and everything to do with him doing things like the owner of a successful team would do.

Yea, those Steelers, Giants, and Patriots make coaching changes quickly and continuously. They never try and build with a plan and continuity.

I forgot how successful the Browns and Redskins have been.

I'm not sure they made a mistake. Chud has been a pretty good OC, but I'm not sure if he's the kind of guy that makes for a good HC. I remember reading a lot of posts after Sparano was gone, and they indicated that he had a strange personality and wasn't a very personable and likeable guy. Naturally that was countered by BB comparisons, but even as inept as the browns organization has been I don't think they'd fire a guy after only one year if there weren't some disconnect there.
