For all the Dante bashing we pulled during his one miserable season here, you just have to respect and love his dedication to football and desire to continue playing in the NFL. Good article about him..

    Heh.

I'm too preoccupied with other stuff right now to search images for his knee-pointing and other taunting during the Oakland game - or for his quote equating his situation with Gandhi's. But when it comes down to it, what I remember most is him telling other teams not to make a deal with us since he'll be free to make his own soon.

That was probably the lowest I've ever felt as a Dolphin fan... But given how hard his career dropped, it must have been one of his highest points.... Can you really blame him for having an adrenaline rush?

The part that impressed me in the article had more to do with him going to GM meetings and trying to put a case for himself out there.. I don't think it is only about money for him.

You guys have to remember how horribly he was ripped up by the press here. He wasn't even given a chance. I don't think that was based at the fans as much as it was just his naysayers, and the coaches.

We treated him pretty crappily, he had a right to want some vengeance.

That being said, it's good to see that he's buried the hatchet, but we definitely don't have use of his services, and I'm not going to be all that terrified if he lands in Buffalo. I do hope he gets a job though, he was a beast back in the day, and it's just downright sad to see someone go out like that.

I don't think him pointing at his knee was a big deal. I think people took offense because a guy did it who most of the fans wanted gone, in our house, after he scored a td on us himself.

Enough with blaming everything on the press!!! You play good, the press writes nice things about you. THE END.

Hard to play good when you are not ready and still injured..
Remember, we chose a broken Dante over Brees.

He had 6 games before they wrote him off, and boo'd him out of town. They can write about him all day long, but it's ridiculous to stick the nail into his coffin so quickly.

Granted, they were right in the end, but that really doesn't take away from the fact that he hadn't even had time to get comfortable in the position before all the negative press landslided in.

If I remember correctly, Crapepper received a $7 million signing bonus.

    Spare me your whining...........

Point well-taken: however, please keep in mind that we spent a #2 on him, gave him $7mil for a lot of sideline bicycle riding and for all of that got undermined by him when trying to at least salvage a 4th or a 5th rounder in a trade.

He was paid pretty good while rehabbing in Miami. I didn't hate him I just didn't think he would ever be the same after the injury. By the time he got to Miami people's stress level, anxiety and frustraition were peaking over Miami's quarterback struggles and he was a logical scape goat when he didn't come right in and make a difference.

Not to mention Cameron pretty much went out of his way to embarass Culpepper in front of the whole team.

Lol. So they were wrong to put a nail in his coffin.. even though there were really right in doing so. Sorry that just struck me as funny but I get your point.

I don't feel sorry for Culpepper. I forgot he was even a Dolphin. He always was over rated and it eventually came to light. He made a great living, I feel much sorrier for about a billion other people on the face of this earth than Dante Culpepper.
