Welcome to TWO more decades of irrelevance Knicks fans!!

This off season cannot get any better for the Heat. Now we just need CP3 shipped safely off to Portland and that's that.

Boik. Just convert to the Heat and Marlins, my man. The Marlins will be your new Knicks and the Heat will be your new... well, they'll be all-new: a team that wins championships!

Say what you will, Isiah's record in choosing players in the NBA draft is as good as anyone else in the business. He's not perfect, but he's the best out there in evaluating college talent.

He sucks in free agency though.

Damn dude, you and section are pushing pretty hard for me to convert to the Heat. Sorry dude, I'm not fair weather like some fans. For better or worse, Knicks for life. Im the same way with all my teams...Phins, NYK, Mets, Isles, Syracuse basketball and :theu: football. :wink2:

Isiah's draft record is pretty good but with the 8th pick in the draft he takes...Channing Frye. Epic fail.

Like I have said before..as director of scouting...not a problem he knows college talent. David Lee as the last pick in round 1, Nate Robinson and Wilson Chandler late in round 1, Trevor Ariza in round two are a testament to that.

But in FA and in trades he just gets bent over. He took on:
Zach Randolph's contract with 4 years and like 60M remaining
    Jamal Crawford's contract at 7yr/56M
    Signed Eddy Curry for 5yr/60M
    Signed Jefferies for 5yr/30M
    Signed Jerome James for 5yr/30M
Traded for Stephon Marbury with 5 years and 90-something million remaining

The list just goes on and on.

I would normally say "don't let them sway your allegiences to YOUR teams" Boik...but being that I hate every NY Pro sports team, I say GO HEAT!

plus I'm a Spurs fan...and realize our chance of knocking off the Lakers nowadays is slim to none, so I have to somewhat root for the Heat to do it for us. :pity:

Well, I can add something to this, other than poking Boik.

Cowherd is going with a ton of NBA coverage at the moment, and today he mentioned that CP's Agent is none other than..Maverick Carter, and that he is likely the catalyst for CP's static about forcing a trade.

According to newsdays Alan hahn, isiah himself is the one floating these rumors about his return to ny. Hahn, for those not familiar with his work is a knicks beat writer who broke the lebron story the night before the decision. I wouldn't past isiah since you're talking about the same scumbag who tried to OD on sleeping pills after the knicks canned him and then ordered a massive cover up from police and emergency workers. But yet everyone knows you can't fake hospital emergency call records....

    Anyway, here's hahn's article: http://www.newsday.com/sports/baske...ng-to-make-a-comeback-to-the-knicks-1.2135299

Hahn did not break the Lebron Story.

technically, Stephen A Smith broke it a week in advance, then LeBatard said it was a lock two days before.

But Hahn has a massive hole in his story.

it is a FACT that Isiah Thomas was in New jersey meeting with Knicks officials on Friday.

    LeBatard had a eyeball source.

    This exactly.

SAS broke the story. LeBatard received independent confirmation two days before The Decision. Hahn came in after LeBatard, and possibly before Chris Broussard's LeBron to Miami report, but Broussard was the second (after SAS) to report that Wade and Bosh were going to Miami.

Here's the problem though, is that SAS also said the Knicks, Bulls and Nyets were getting Lebron! He must be Broussard's long lost brother lately because he plays dartboard rumor-mongoring. Hahn was the first to break the story citing a source and making the source public the night before.

Its possible Isiah was in NJ and meeting with the Knicks but Allan Houston I believe is the successor.

Tommy Dee on The Knicks Blog/SNY Network said it best:

"Thomas is clearly trying to take credit where it should be shared....When Donnie Walsh first arrived he showed Isiah a ton of respect by being positive and keeping him around . In return, it seems, Isiah is trying to overshadow the clean up job that Walsh is navigate through. One that Isiah helped cause. And for his cause he gets a guy planting stories in the media.

Typical tabloid journalism, headed by Zeke the attention freak himself.
"If he wanted to return to the organization in some capacity it should be as a scout. Or even a consultant. He can call Chris Paul or Dell Demps from his couch if he wants. Or go have lunch. But this idea that he has this hold over today’s player because of his hall of fame career just never jived for me"
    "
Its possible Dolan was meeting with him but Walsh has repeatedly denied that Isiah was coming back even going so far as to say there was no spot for Isiah there. So its possible that scumbag may have met with Dolan and the Knicks yesterday but its also possible it was not about the GM position.

Also I find it extremely unlikely could deliver CP3 where The Godfather cant. I think Walsh just has a plan that he is sticking to, meaning, like Section said, getting Carmelo first.

If we're not counting talking heads, then you and HD broke this two years ago.

No he didn't. He was firm on LeBron to the Knicks for two years, because that's what he was being told. The fact that he changed his story after so long means that he had a damn good source: apparently World Wide Wes knew what he was talking about after all.

You're confusing your talking heads.

You also found it highly unlikely that Isiah would ever be associated with the Knicks again as an executive, but here we are on the verge of it happening again. :pointlol:

SAS said definitively on June 30th..that Wade was staying and Bosh and lebron were coming to miami and that it was a lock. What he said before was just conjecture and speculation.

I'm not confusing anything. Sas said on air that final week that it would be nyk. Then it was Chicago. Then it was nj. Then it was Miami he ultimately settled on after changing his mind just as much as broussard. He's become a dartboard journalist barely better then broussard.

As far as isiah goes, I've heard nothing definitive that he was ever being considered for gm of the knicks. And considering David Stern stepped in and said Isiah had to be fired after the Anucha Brown Saunders scandal I can't see how it will ever happen again. They may hire him as a consultant or a scout but anything more and I would be astonished not only at the stupidity but that the nba would actually let him come back so soon after the commissioner said had to go.

He was dead-on accurate when he said days, if not weeks, before anyone else that Wade, Bosh, and LeBron would go to Miami.

He also said the knicks nets and bulls would get some combination of lebron, wade and bosh.

And grief wouldn't be the word to describe how I'd feel about an isiah retiring at gm...that word would be crash. As in the sound ones body makes when passing out and hitting the floor at the time of hearing the news.

And then a reliable source that apparently didn't talk to anyone else told him what was really going on and he immediately went with that.

I'm not going to knock SAS on this one. He was right. LeBatard gets credit as well, because local Heat-related sources were telling him the same thing well before Broussard or anyone else at ESPN woke up.

Strippers everywhere are about to get paid.

Good God, losing LeBron and hiring Isiah would basically be the worst offseason nightmare if I was a Knicks fan. Unless Isiah has pictures of the Knicks owner committing a crime I can't see him coming back. Even for the Knicks that's self destructive.
