IMO this is a great move for Boldin. Get someone fresh in there that might actually care about his best interests.
To me, Boldin may feel Rosenhaus was asking for too much money in any sort of trade deal so he fired him.
Rumor around town here in Arizona is that Boldin feels that decent contracts were left on the table, and his agent felt they could get more. Boldins intentions were never to leave the franchise, but to rather get compensated for his worth after being put into a bad position by his agent by signing this deal he is currently in two years after his rookie contract. With his reputation being questioned, Boldin fired his agent in attempts to finish contracts disputes. As to trade offers being to high, the eagles offered a third rounder for him, along with another team offering similar draft location. His stock did not increase with his agents media belittlement of the Cardinals franchise, and agents diva attitude being displayed for the media. Having watched Boldin play since arriving here in Arizona, he is nothing close to that, and this was all his agents ploy/promise to get him his contract. It back fired, and Drew was sent packing.
Very good post. This sheds a much more favorable liught on Boldin, and would increase his chances of staying in Zona, if true. Conversely, if he actually wants OUT, then this was a bad move. Drew is good at timing his jailbreaks (see the waiting game he played with Clinton Portis and the Broncos). Boldin's best chance would have been with Rosenhaus, in that case. Either way, I think Boldin gets less money now. Forget $9-10 mill a year. More like $6.5-7 at this point.
