so a couple of days ago, i bought the shock doctrine sort of on a whim and a recommendation from a friend who really liked it.

well its terrible and so ridiculously biased and fact-twisting, its infuriating

im looking for something a bit more academic. ill entertain any side or perspective, but i want it to be fair and detailed.

    recommendations?

EDIT: ill also add that i really liked the idea of analyzing recent history through the eyes of certain economic polices, just not the way this book did it

Have a look at this Maynard. Especially look in the archives from the top of the page. They go back around five decades. You will find many book reviews from current to back into the fifties on Free Market, Classical Liberal Economics. I've subscribed to this publication for over twenty years ($35 per year) if you are Constitutional in your political makeup it is excellent.
