Per Ricky and per TC reports. He is being vertical and aggressive and not shying away from anything. Combined with pocket presence, this offense could make up for a bad defense
Apparently had 4 long td's.....Ricky can you confirm?

1) He has NOTHING to lose
2) He has the best offensive package of his life (WR's, RB's, etc)
3) He has a coach that believes in him and he trusts the coach completely
4) The offense was custom-tailored to his skills over 5 years ago
5) Did I mention he has nothing at all to lose?
With our talent, it's a dream stint for any great QB coming out of retirement. -
Cutler most importantly looks very comfortable and much different than last year. It's almost a relief for him to be in this offense again

#2 - What am I missing here? He played with Matt Forte, Alshon Jefferies, Brandon Marshall, Devin Hester, Greg Olsen, and Martellus Bennett while in Chicago. He still only ever threw 28 TDs while putting up a high number of INTs by forcing the ball to receivers and trusting his arm too much while throwing off his back foot.
He's hasn't played a full season since 2009 and in his 5 games last year before injury, he fumbled it 6 times. His fumble numbers in other seasons are almost identical to Tannehill.
Hoping we get best the out of Cutler ever, and I agree that he's in an ideal situation here, but he's had talent and coaching around him previously.Last edited: Aug 29, 2017 -
Does kind of feel like a confluence of good circumstances for Cutler and Gase.
There's a pretty fair argument to be made about his having Matt Forte, Alshon Jefferies, Brandon Marshall, Greg Olsen, and Martellus Bennett at various points in his Bears career.
But it feels like he's got a bit of what we were missing, and we've got a bit more of what he's been missing as far as a way of making football fun again for him.
Kind of has that feel of Brett Favre's year with the Minnesota Vikings throwing to Sidney Rice, Percy Harvin, Bernard Berrian, Visanthe Shiancoe, with Adrian Peterson running the rock.
I think Miami were really crafting something with good quality before Cutler got here and he gets to kind of sit in the driver's seat and have some fun with a coach he loves, a system he knows, talented players that have renewed focus because misfortune and a new quarterback kind of jarred them out of the routine, etc.
Unfortunately some of this does hinge on Mike Pouncey playing as I think the ground game is pretty sensitive to his presence or non-presence.Rickysabeast, Tin Indian, josh and 7 others like this. -

so fun story, factual and all. My co-worker is a ref for the Phins during camp and practices. He is also the chain mover at pains games.
Says Parker and Howard have been going at it like dogs all Summer. They actually talk every play. Yesterday their feet got tangled up and Parker was being for a PI, explaining to the ref Howard bailed out. No PI was called. Love the competition and fire this team has. Just get some decent blocking and not allow 7 yards per rush is all I askDolphin North and josh like this. -

All I know is that if Cutler cant get it done with this team around him, barring more injuries decimating the offense, then he never really had it to begin with. As has been said repeatedly, he is in at least as good a situation as he ever has ( remember he had quite a few injuries to his offensive weapons in Chicago his one year under Gase ). I think he is going to do well and were going to have a real problem after this season is over trying to figure out what were going to do at the QB spot.

Jay Cutler looks like he could have a Rich Gannon type of breakout season. He's got the arm, the "Don't Care" tee-shirts. Nothing to lose; his NFL Legacy to WIN.
