#1 - It's not about time. Or at the very least it is debatable. #2 - It's not courtesy of Wal-mart. Most places have it at $299. It's a universal price drop.

Just bought the PS3 SLIM 120G tonight. Madden10 and used my Daughter's GameStop Employee discount. As a Dad, yes, I raised her right!!!!!
I just picked up the PS3 slim.. OMFG this system ROCKS! The media streaming, Blu Ray and Sony software is enough to make the system well worth the price.. Add the gaming experience and WOW.
Of course!!!!! (and Giants cause of her GrandFather "my pop") Which was perfect for the past SB when G-men upended the Pats and blew the Season out of the water! Seriously, her ability to "rent" from GameStop on ones I want to try before I buy, is so cool!
This has basically been the re-launch of the system with the systems flying off the shelves (as evident by how many people just bought one in this thread). It's amazing really how well this thing is selling and apparently $299 is the magic number where people will buy it. With the current sales figures if they keep up Sony can take over 2nd place this generation and possibly even first. Sony finally is showing its old selling power again now that they figured out that people won't pay over $300 for a system really (it really is the magic number). I'm just happy that this system can finally get the recognition it deserves without price hurting it...it truly is a great system. So kudos Sony.
