Well that puts the Patriots to a decision to either extend Cassell, franchise him or hope that Brady is ok for next season. Karma I think is finally catching up with Bellicheat.

I believe it would cost New England $11 million to francise Cassel, New England is only $20 below the cap and odviously need help on the ageing defense. New England could not offer Cassel a contract he could get elsewhere so he would be foolish to sign a deal, if I were him I would force the Patriots to tag him and if Brady returns during the season he will be highest bench player in the NFL.
