I feel bad for any player that has to go through that. It's a tough, tough situation. However, I also must admit my own guilty pleasure at Tom Brady being out of the NFL, and the Patriots being knocked down a couple of notches without him. I'm sure there were many AFC East fans outside of Miami that felt the same way when Marino tore his Achilles way back in the day. I'm just being honest...
Brady would be 33 coming off of two knee surgeries and Belicheck's contract runs up in 2011 I think. There has been speculation in the past that Belicheck would coach out his contract and be done with it. Just saying.
what a bummer.. I fear infections very strongly, and wouldn't wish one upon anyone. I have poor resistance to staph, it has almost got me a couple times.
in a way im kinda sad, i used to like seeing out defense punch brady in the face every now and then. the win we had this year was nice but wouldve been much sweeter if he was behind center.
It all depends on if he needs a 2nd ACL surgery due to the infection. Sounds like speculation on a worst case scenario at this point.
This is the reason that in both my ACL repairs (yes, I tore both the Left and Right knees) I chose to use my patella tendon instead of a cadaver. Even if the recovery takes longer, I'd much rather use a part of my own body rather than one from a cadaver. I wonder if those infected all had cadaver replacements? Would be interesting to find out that cadaver replacements carry a higher risk of infection. While PT was a b****, I'm glad that both my knees are strong again.
Damn that would suck, I would much rather face healthy Brady next year, that way their fans have no excuses if we kick their asses again(even though they should haveno excuses this year)
According to reports he has had 3 (THREE) surgeries for the purpose of addressing the infection. So a total of 4 surgeries. ESPN - Brady has more procedures for infection; Pats upset with situation - NFL Can't say it is for sure; but it sounds like MRSA to me. That sucks. Regardless, he ain't coming back as quick as Ronnie Brown did.
If he comes back. The fact that he's had 3 surgeries is a terrible sign for his future. If they don't get that leg cleaned out you can count on another reconstructive surgery. At worst they could end up amputating his leg (unlikely but entirely possible).
I hear ya. I know MRSA isn't anything to mess around with. My wife's an ICU RN. She's related some ugly stories to me. And as unlikely as it is; you're right if they don't get it under control he could lose that leg.
