Anyway, while the two camps have each other in the cross-hairs, Brady took time during his interview to show love to the Dolphins. No, seriously. And he went out of his way to do it. Brady was asked about New England's offense coming with new wrinkles and doing different, elaborate things. Brady said all that is overplayed. He said doing a couple of things very well can be almost as effective if the personnel is good and right. "I''ve said before the best defense I’ve ever played against was the Miami Dolphins about 8, 9, 10 years ago, and they played pretty much the same defense the whole game," Brady said. "And it didn’t matter what you did, they rushed the passer, they covered you, they covered you short, they covered you deep. "They had one or two change-ups that really complimented what they were doing. I had my worst games against the Dolphins. Our passing game against them was terrible, and we knew going into the game exactly what they play, and that to me is the mark of a really good team is when they do kind of say what you’re going to do but you do it so well that they really are not able to stop you anyway.” Read more: http://miamiherald.typepad.com/dolp...s-shows-dolphins-some-love.html#ixzz0xYDSv8vf
That always showed me why Wanny should have been fired every year. Even rehired a few times just to get fired again. Maybe for ten days straight, every hour on the hour. Just rehire him and fire him.
8,9,10 years ago we might take that as a compliment. But not really. He was a rookie then, wasn't he? Isn't everything more complex-looking when you're a rookie?
We always play them tough even when we suck (AJ Feeley game). I think what he meant was back then we had an even more stifling defense that just completely shut them down.
Still, good to hear compliments from Brady. As much as I do not like him, I definitely do respect him. Sadly JT was the biggest thorn in his side, if we're talking defense. We no longer have that weapon.
I WAS THERE! Last two Dolphins game I've attended: Dolphins vs. Pats in Foxboro (Wildcat Game) and last year Henne goes nuts and Crowder gets that gift INT. I'm almost scared to go to another one...gotta pick my spots.
he's really not giving the dolphins love, hes giving Zach Thomas, Jason Taylor, Patrick Surtain, Sam Madison, and Brock Marion love.
Oh, that....I thought you were going to say that he gave us a back-handed compliment by being a fellow jests hater...I respect him for that...lol
THAT is what we need, complimenting our D of 6-8 years ago is almost an insult to who we are now, if taken the wrong way. Like saying "they USED to have a great defense", and/or "now maybe not so much" ??
well he has a bit of a love/hate relationship with Vontae im betting. Brady torched Vontae in both games last year, but Vontae did pick him off twice, the 2nd one turned the tides for us to win the game. In fact, you could say that about our whole defense seeing as how he somehow managed to throw a pick to Channing Crowder of all players.
