Take your time big fella, we can get by for a few weeks but we can't afford to lose you for a the season again.
Rabbit size issue. Nuclear resolution. How about signing a backup tackle whose got actual experience who can fill in for a couple weeks?
Miami really needs to consider finding a starting quality swing tackle, not just for this season but the duration of Philbin's career here(which is hopefully one and the same) You cannot leave it to him to identify and start the correct player. You basically have to make the decision for him with an established veteran.
Saw that. He ranked #50 out of 54 eligible tackles in pass blocking per PFF. Not sure he is what this team needs, and I am not sure he would accept a backup role. It would only be a short time as a starting RT before Brandon Albert gets back.
So will mine but I'm so sure this is the route we're going in the first round........... sigh Albert always had an injury history, the knee is a freak injury though but with his injury history, the Dolphins won't hesitate...
Again, I sure hope not, I want a playmaker on either side of the ball, whether its Melvin Gordon, Kevin White, Gerod Holliman, or Shaq Thompson. Those are my 4 personal main guys I prefer but as long as its not OL or QB, I will be happy.
Ideally yes but it's Easier said than done. The teams who need starters at OT will outbid us for FAs and starting caliber OTs are typically gone in the first round or two.
Ironically we had a swing tackle. But Dallas ended up signing him from our practice squad to roster and used him in that capacity (Tony Hills). Jermey Parnell is a FA. Not sure about his ability at LT but he was the swing guy and filled in for Doug Free quite well at RT.
Albert has a history of injuries during his time in the NFL. I think it is wishful thinking that he will come back from this major injury and be the same player he was prior to the injury. Much like Long before him, injuries are beginning to catch up with Albert and it won't surprise me in the least if the Dolphins select another offensive tackle in the first round of the draft. The offensive line remains one of the biggest areas of need on this team, along with the secondary, LB's, and interior DL. WR only becomes an area of need if the Dolphins are dumb enough to trade or cut Wallace. In fact I see the TE position as more an area of need than the WR position at this time.
Branden Albert today: http://instagram.com/p/y40VIugm0v/ Andrew Abramson @AbramsonPBP 31m31 minutes ago Branden Albert seems pissed the last couple days about a report he may not be ready for season. He just posted video of him on treadmill
I think I will respond by saying this team has way too many holes including a head coach and defensive coordinator . we need a big time runningback and I would like to see the offense fixed through the draft and uses undrafted rookies and free agent players for defense. #1 running back to replace the number 2 and number 3 guys . #2 three offensive linemen 1 center and two guards or tackles . #3 big powerful looking tightend . #4 a back up qb and a potential future qb for insurance . #5 two linebackers is probally more urgent then qb but we should focus on offense first and the linebackers next.
How about we cut Albert, draft a tackle and sign 2 from FA using the money we will save Guys no good if hurt. Got a feeling this is not the end of the knee issue either
Drew Rosenhaus is saying that he spoke to Hickey and that the Dolphins "are fond" of Jason Fox and that they should bring him back.
Fox was pretty good in College but has been hurt most of his career. If he can stay healthy he has a legitimate shot to be a strong back up and given the right circumstances maybe even start
