Brandon Marshall: 101 catches for 1120 yards & 10 touchdowns in the regular season

    Height 6-4
    Weight 230 lbs.

he runs like wind , breaks tackles & stops on a dime

whats not to like? we signed the best available offensive player of the year

To people saying they'd rather have drafted Dez Bryant than trade for Marshall, you're overlooking the fact that there was no gaurantee that Dez would still be there at the 12th pick. Beyond that, it also frees us up to pick a safety or outside linebacker in the 1st instead worrying about receiver. I'd like to see them trade down and draft Brandon Graham with the 1st pick. I think he's gonna be a sack machine, and is the best pass rushing 3-4 type linebacker available, IMO.

Overall, a great move for Miami. Here's to BP making that bold move everyone has been begging for since he's got here!

So with all the rumors of CJ Spiller...does Miami send Ronnie Brown somewhere to replace the 2nd round pick and select Spiller at #12 and an OLB with the 2nd rounder we get from Brown?

Also, there are rumors of Ginn Jr being shopped. Maybe he nets us a 2nd or 3rd rounder too?

and who else? Oh, Smiley probably would be involved in a trade up type scenario. I'm just HYPED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Vonnie Holliday coming up next on WQAM.

I wouldn't doubt him being the guy wishing he was in Miami. I know for a fact he misses it.

dude come on....are you kidding me?? you guys are sweating 2 2nd round picks, I love picks but for this you have too...

when a top 3 position becomes available between a WR, and QB it is rare, you have to try and find a way to get him....

I have always said through this whole Marshall thing, trade for the guy, extend him, pay him, put responsibility on him right away, something on a team level he has never had, he is the man right now, pay him like it....at 26 years old, he will get it, and thrive watch...this is a no brainer...I love it....

This IMO just confirms Miami trading back in the first round. Trade back a few spots, pick up another 2nd rounder and get a starting defensive player.

I wouldn't be shocked if outside of a TE and RB this draft is devoted to filling the voids on the defensive. Hell maybe even Earl Thomas at #12.

I'm ****ing so happy I can't stop being happy.

GinnJr & our 4th pick to then Raiders for McFadden
just because its not on the radar, doesn't mean it can't happen
McFadden is the immediate/future answer to our running game

I have to agree with you on that. I know we like our early round picks. I wouldnt be surprised if we have something already worked out to trade down.

Its a great deal. Two second rounders for argubly an elite receiver.

But man, I dunno, all that baggage he brings worries me alot.

Muck was just going to say that, seems like Nolan like him, he had to be the convincing authority.....

    ArmandoSalguero

#Dolphins asked DC Mike Nolan his opinion of Brandon Marshall. Nolan said Marshall is best WR his D faced all year -- that in practice.

Vonnie says Marshall grew a lot in the last year. Outstanding teammate, really works.

New situation, great for Miami, great for Brandon.

Doesn't see him as a TO. Says he's not a primma donna. He's a hard worker, wants to be the best in the league.

I dont love the idea of giving up 2 high picks for one player but given the bust rate at the WR position and the high learning curve I can live with it. We didnt get a steal but we did get an extremely productive player at a position that its hard, very hard, to find a legit number 1 at.

And it didnt cost us a first. I can live with that. At least as long as he keeps his nose clean.

Mark Schlereth echoes Holiday's statements: He said that Brandon is working hard on trying to improve himself as a person and taht he did see alot of growth in him recently.

I honestly think we'll trade down from #12.

In 3 offseasons, our FO(who has been pretty maligned recently) has added the following:

-an excellent o-line, featuring a pro bowl LT
-2 possible shutdown corners, or at the very least locked up 3 of 4 secondary positions for a while
    -serious ILB upgrade
-with one addition, the best corps of WRs since Fryar, Ingram, and co. Marshall allows Bess to tear up the slot, and Ginn to run go routes all day.
-oh by the way, a possible franchise QB, backed up by a very capable young signal caller, and solid vet.

    Yeah, Parcells sucks.

I like the trade and agree we had to do somthing about our WR corps.

On a personal note does anyone else feel like next Friday night just got ruined? Unless we trade for a 2nd round pick that night will be less exciting to watch without our team picking.
