New England Patriots safety Brandon Meriweather's legal guardian denied the shooting allegations that have been levied agains the NFL player in Apopka, Fla.
“It’s not true,” Tim Bridges told the Boston Herald, adding that there's "no truth to the rumors."
Meanwhile, the Orange County Sheriff's Office told NESN that "Meriweather is not listed as a victim, suspect or witness" in any police report involving an alleged shooting."
The Patriots issued the following statement: "We are aware of the reported allegation, but do not have any additional information."
Meriweather allegedly shot two men, according to Deadspin, which has quoted attorney John Morgan who represents the alleged victims. Neither man has cooperated with authorities or pressed charges.
“I’m sure the attorneys will handle whatever needs to be handled,” Bridges said. “‘Everything will come out if there’s anything to come out. But statements have been given by the Orange County Sheriff’s Department that Brandon Meriweather is not a victim, nor a person of interest in any shooting."
