YouTube - miami dolphins -Chad Pennington
Also listening in to Volin's and LaVicka's podcast and they were saying Pennington's arm looks the same as it did in 08, and neither one is very homerish.
Also some surprisingly positive words about Al Harris.

The talked to a fellow reporter who asked Atari Bigby and Charles Woodson about Harris and both stated he still could play, Harris rehabed in Green Bay so they would have some basis for saying that other than loyalty to a friend. -
Our wideouts run the worst routes I have ever seen designed on a professional level.
Its barely high school worthy. -

Less than 10 Total routes that went pass the markers.
Henne going through his reads everytime and no one being open.
The wideouts getting ZERO separation.
Bess barely playing at all.NJFINSFAN1 and Bpk like this. -

BTW, if you watch the video, notice the throw to Ted Ginn in the endzone, no way Henne makes that throw, now put Beast in the picture.
THAT is one of a number of reasons why Pennington got the nod, Ginn was covered and Penny led him enough to give TED FREAKIN' GINN a chance to high point the reception.Sceeto likes this. -
You could go to any one of Marshall highlight videos.. his best plays are off the throws where it's just throw it up there and let him make the play.Bpk likes this. -
Agree his TD numbers will pick up as triple coverage in the endzone is just not possible.Bpk likes this. -
I would like to get rid of WR Coach Karl Dorrell. I have never been a fan of his since his UCLA days and am not sure what he brings to the table as a WR Coach. It seems his only success story is Devonne Bess. Is that enough to keep him around?

The lack of double moves is very frustrating, and something I've been noticing lately.
You're telling me that when they run those 15-20 yard out patterns in between the cover 2 that they can't fake to the sideline then turn upfield? With the success they have with that play they should run double moves consistently.Bpk likes this. -
Recall they waived Turner for Moore and Wallace's sakes, let's see what the Maestro can do with them before calling for scalps.
If anyone should be examined, George Deleone should be under the microscope, there has not been a single Te developed in 3 yrs and they missed wildly with John Nalbone, the young bucks under his charge cannot block, cannot catch, and are non factors outside of Fasano, and he is more or less an extra tackle with decent hands.
Not..good..enough.Bpk likes this. -

That is why I am waiting for Sunday's game, if the offense hums there is a good chance it wasn't all Dan Henning going loopy that was the problem. -

Granted it wasnt in the endzone but I would say the placement was about the same. -
Do not insult Davone Bess' route running. It's some of the best in the business. It's the reason he's in the league. Marshall's hasn't been perfect, but he's also good and so is Hartline. Route running is not the problem. The routes they're running are.

Bess arrived GREAT. Watch his college tape. Over a three year span NO one in the NCAA had more catches.
Man was already bona fide. People avoided him due to 1) feeling that Hawaii offense was not typical pro and had inflated his numbers too (so what, he had a MILLION reps catching the ball! It made him GREAT at it) 2) Slow 40 time for a small guy.
He was WAY underrated by scouts as a result.
So, no, I don;t think Karl Dorrell has EVER helped one of our receivers significantly improve. PLaying time, practice, being around vet receivers have all done more for them than that man ever could.
Hell, most of them catch as well now as they did when they arrived.
Hagan, London, Wilford were not helped. Not a whit. Ditto Ginn's route running.
Camarillo and Bess already HAD hands.
Nope. Dorrell has not developed a single receiver for us, imo. He is yet ANOTHER bad coaching choice by .. well was it by Sparano or PArcells?
Either way, if Henning gets fired.. and Dorrell is crap, we have to question the Head Coach's hires.adamprez2003 likes this. -
Hell, Brandon tried to improvise on that one play where Henne got intercepted. lol. Brandon;s fault for changing his route, yes, but a QB with good chemistry and intuition might have 'felt' the same thing Marshall did and expected his WR to try that move to go to the empty spot.
Henne is so 'programmed' he doesn;t have any 'feel' for what's organically going on on a given play.adamprez2003 likes this. -
Great organizations DEVELOP PLAYERS. See New England.
Our Front Office/Parcells and or Sparano seem to have hired a staff that doesn't improve ANYONE positionally. lol.
So far, Todd Bowles doing a good job and whoever is coaching the D line is doing outstandingly imo, considering Soliai starting at NT and Odrick going down.adamprez2003 likes this. -

Too bad it cuts off before the meltdown against Baltimore. -

COME ONE MANNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!
Henne wasnt getting it into the End Zone...I agree....
But he can make throws like that...and has....how bout the two back to back over the shoulder to Davone Bess....
Anyone want to take a shot at the over and under on the number of times you hear people say....
Thats a throw Henne would have made....? -

I gotta say.....I felt the spark earlier in the week....but the more and more that I think about this.....the more and more Im not crazy about this move.
And the more and more Im sure this staff hasnt the foggiest idea on who to develop a QB like Chad Henne... -
Having said all that its undeniable that at the end of the day Henne's benching is due to his ineffectiveness in the red zone and his inability to penetrate blanket coverage. The missed pass to Fasano might have been the final straw.
Now the thing is Henne has played fine for a 2nd year starter. There is no rational reason to be worried at this stage. He has shown he can rip apart man coverage. He has shown improvement in his progressions. He has started to look off receivers and he has shown the ability to move the ball in the middle of the field. For a 2nd year starter he's on pace. And I think thats something that people need to keep in mind. Its not his fault he cant be a pro bowl QB in his 20th start. Thats just life. Unfortunately for him, the team cant afford to continue his development at this point in the season because it is in a dogfight to reach the playoffs. If we were 3-5 or 6-2 he would be starting but at 4-4 and every game a must win you have to go with the veteran unless you're willing to risk the season -
All you need to know is look at what Matt Ryan did last night after 3 seasons of growth. Proves this staff has their heads in the sand with our young QB.
-
Different routes and throws Vt, Ginn was covered in front Penny still threw the pass over the Db but short enough for Ginn to high point the thing, Henne does not even attempt that throw.
Which is why I believe the offensive output will improve with CP at Qb.
Henne the vast majority of the time will only throw it when the Wr was facing him, if Henne did not see the front of their Jersey that ball was not coming out.
Recall the Fasano pass in the endzone? CP makes that one easily. -
Seems everyone is pulling Pennington's lever :wink2:
-
Recall that pass to Marshall, inside the hashes 15 yards downfield in a max shell? Pennington will NEVER make that pass.
I hope you remember us converting only around 10% of 3rd + 7 in 2008. -
-
after watching the video and hearing first hand sound on the field what a leader this guy is, and the passion he has for the game, how do some people rip the guy?
-
Of course Captain Balls also manages to win games, and lots of them, but that does not matter for some.
