Richie has never actually inflicted any injuries. As said before, I am a big Nebraska fan mostly due to I am an old timer and when Milt Tenopir the Oline coach was there it was the best. Since this was posted I did some research. Outside of pissing just about every Dlineman off in college and the NFL, there is at no time anything that shows Incognito did any injury to anyone. There were many instances like in Sundays game when he tackled the kid that intercepted the ball where the player had to leave the game because he was hit so hard but nothing ever to show Incognito ever injured anyone on purpose. You all have to remember something. Antonio Smith has been a crybaby since he played in Arizona. Arizoan played the Rams. Incognito started at LG , C and RG for the Rams thoughout his years there and yep, he pissed Antonio Smith off then also. I was at the game, I looked at the tape provided here and my recording at home. Incognito basically tackled Smith and yeah, held on. The whistle did not blow until after Smith starting kicking Incognito ( see fine from NFL on Smith come Friday ) so in event, what did Incognito do. There was a fumble, he tackled the first person close to him and he held on ? Nothing wrong with that. What was he supposed to to when that LBer he tackled intercepted the ball. Wait for him to catch it, then ask to tackle him ? Come on guys, its a friggin street fight out there. Antonio Smith should keep his mouth shut. He has always had his share of personal fouls imposed against him. Crap, Smiths own coach Kubiak was asked at a press conference if he was going to send film to the league and he basically said of what, I saw nothing going on out there out of the ordinary, just two players going at it all game. Now, thats from Smiths head coach. Ya all honestly think Cogs gives two craps about what the asshat media says about him ? Its like a feeding frenzy. We have a QB that cannot get the ball past the Dline on a lot of occasions, we have no receivers, out pass defense is suspect so yeah, when ANYTHING is said about a Miam player its news to them. IF ANYTHING i GUESS, they could have flagged Incognito for holding but really they can't do that either as once there is a fumble he turns into a defensive player and is permitted the same liberties a Dlineman has which is ? Tackle the nearest guy that you think has the ball. This is what really pisses D players off. Most Olineman in the league are ho hum. Incognito hammers them until the whistle blows. Watch the games, he is still blocking even if the play is not near him, whiich he has the right to do until the whistle blows. The defense hates that. Watch it, Cogs gives two craps if he pisses the defense off but sometimes the defense gets pissed they are even being hit. Antonio Smith was a crybaby at Arizona and still is a crybaby. Check the personal fouls out Smith has been fined for. He above everyone should keep his mouth shut.
See what happens when they outlaw dodgeball! The wussification of America at its finest! Sent From My EVO 4G LTE!
There are ways to play to the whistle. There are clean ways to play hard. Then there's what Richie did.
Incognito is a scumbag. I hope he gets suspended. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6xB1bURiogw&feature=youtu.be
Still don't see the issue. Fumble was out and holding other players from getting to a fumble is pretty damn common. If this "shocks" you you aren't for contact sports.
Richie probably did this because he was getting owned by Smith all day. Hes so overrated. Id be willing to bet hes going to be our 4th best OL this year.
You can see Incognito yanking. Sorry you don't see that but that is way excessive and I'll takes Smiths word on the incident over yours.
You don't know Smith anymore than you know Incognito so why would either's "word" carry any weight? Especially knowing the amount of crap all these guys talk?
Because guys don't play around when someone tries to intentionally injure someone. This was more than jawing. On video it looks like Incognito is doing more than just holding on to keep him down. I find it funny if the teams were reversed everyone on this board would be up in arms. Incognito is a dirty player and should be penalized for his actions.
people defend the dumbest **** the dolphin players do but they rail road B Marsh out of town I don't understand fan logic
I've long thought Richie was overrated. Maybe that's affecting my opinion somewhat. He's a solid run-blocker but continually grades poorly in pass pro.
Its dirty. If we was trying to hold him than he's a douche. If he was trying to injure him he should be out of the league.
The biggest beef I have with all this If you look closely, you can see Legadu Nanee still on this team. Name's a little blurry, but it's him. I'm positive.
People keep saying intent to injure and again.... how long has he been in the league? If he went out with the intent to injure he would have injured someone at this point, no doubt about it. It's not that hard to do. It's an absurd accusation at this point. As far as us being irritated if he was not a Dolphin and had played us of course we would be. That's why the guy does it, to irritate his opponents. I didn't like when other guys tried this stuff on me but it happens and it's part of the game. Since he is on our team I do like it. This team needs a damn mean streak for once.
he kicked him because he was frustrated and RI wouldn't let go. his akle turned because he flopped from his belly to his butt and started kicking the **** out of him. penalty play for RI? certainly. dirty play? for RI don't think so. for Smith? well he kicked the **** out of RI then claimed he was being intentionally hurt. RI has a rep so it must be and there for explains his reason for kicking the **** out of RI so when the tape is reviewed the possible fine will be reduced or not handed out at all....
Owned ?? Really Smith had one tackle and .5 sack and when he had the assist sack Tannehill was already on the ground after JJ Watt beat the piss out of Long. Here are the stats. I sat on the 45 yard line behind our bench and rewatched the game. You have no clue other then you are blind. Here are Smiths sacks, if you call this owning someone well, what can I say. Our offensive line pushed pretty good Sun. Amazes me how half the people here know squat about what actually occurs during a football game. Go ahead attempt to hammer away LMFAO, like it bothers me. You and about a dozen other people here are completely devoid of the most basic football knowldge. http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/_/id/5660/antonio-smith
he kicked the **** out of him which under normal circumstances would have resulted in a suspension. he was frustrated, RI was in his head, and he kicked the crap out of him and usually that results in penalties and suspensions regardless what happens before the action. Smith is voicing this not to point out that RI is a dirty player but to move focus from his actions to RI's reputation...a deflection.
Don't know how else you can see it. There was a fumble on the play and it just looks like Richie is holding the guys ankle to he cant get up and help with the recovery. I see no twisting at all. I certainly don't see any justification for one player kicking another player in the head. What I do see is a fine able offense by the Defender that's kicking Richie in the head repeatedly. I'm sure this is the play the Dolphins sent to the commissioner and would wager a fine and or suspension is levied.
It looks like Incognito has his arm wrapped around Smith's ankle and is lying on top of him. I’m trying to figure out what kind of leverage and possible detrimental range of motion he could be applying that could lead to a possible broken ankle. I mean, Incognito’s body never comes off the ground until he’s kicked in the head. That leads me to believe he couldn't have been wrenching it side to side or turning it under because there isn't enough room between his body and the ground to move it far enough to do any real damage.
You’ve got to be kidding. UD and DWade were bleeding from the face that night. Those guys were headhunting and getting away with it. UD took care of his own business and Pittman took care of DWade’s. End of story.
So, I was reading the commentary with the frame by frame, and I was thinking... damn... yeah... Richie... you're guilty on this one. Then I look further down the page and see the video, and... It seems then that half of what this guy was writing, was his own perception of it. When you watch the video, you really dont see much other than Richie just holding on to his ankle to not let him up and get to the ball. I still don't see the issue here.
What looks like an ankle hold is actually a defensive move. Angle is actually defending himself from an enraged kick from Austin
there is ways to respond with out almost ending someones career defending that action is bs imo haslems foul was how you deal with it Pittman went head hunting you don't do that
A clothesline is not close to trying to "end someones career" I have had more physically happen to me playing "red rover" in 4th grade. Stop defending those *****es.
Where are you getting your grades for him in pass pro? PFF rated him a +2.7 and a +2.5 the past two seasons. He has been flagged 12 times total over 2010-2011. Antonio Smith was flagged 19 times. So, he isn't some poor innocent little choir boy out there, that Richie is needlessly picking on. The only DE with more penalties than Smith over the past two seasons combined has been Jason Babin.
he needs to be moved to defense. i wouldnt mind having someone like the real "romo" play defense for us!
He doesn't seem to remember Larry Bird calling out his team for being soft after the following game. Crime pays.
I don't think Smith is a liar as much as a cry baby. But that is the NFL these days. Yes, Incognito is a throw back dirty player. But, he's no Conrad Dobler by any means. This comment by the poster on that site was laughable: Come on, dude! It is the most violent sport on the planet - not a "game of integrity and honor." You don't try to hurt someone but if you can get away with a holding call or tackling a player - it happens every game. He tackled him. Who hasn't played the sport and had this happen to them? I only played a few years in Jr. High and High School and it happened to me. It even happened in flag football in college! We used to do far worse in a game we played for years that was, "kill the guy with the football" (Actually it was known as "smear the queer" but since that's politically incorrect, I won't use that). I don't like it when players use their helmet to injure others or take really dirty shots at a knee. And perhaps Incognito might do the latter; but that play? Clearly a holding penalty and excessive for sure. But, super dirty? Come on... #crybaby
The NFL fined Smith $21,000 for kicking Incognito while Richie was left unpunished. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap10...ognito-wasnt-fined?module=HP11_content_stream
