In two games, he's thrown for 517 yards, 4 TDs, 5 INTs, 5 Sacks, and 2 Fumbles.
I will admit that his completion percentage is WAY up, at 63%, but that will surely come down. His team is 2-0 thanks to Tony Romo and Luke McCown sucking worse than Sanchez.

His numbers don't suck and his passer rating is above 80.

I don't really care. The jets are 0-2 because Tony Romo choked and Luke McCown is dog-puke.

I mean 2-0.

The Jets have made the AFC Championship game 2 years running, are well coached, have a GM who can work magic with salary caps and a solid young team that only seems to be getting better. I don't care if Mark Sanchez "sucks", Jets fans have a lot more to cheer about than we do around here.

As bad as he is, that douche with the jet plane on his head takes the cake. What an effin' embarrassment.

these guidos gotta stop "keeping it in the family." Then again they may pollute the gene pool for the rest of us.
Oh man I know who you're talking about. LOL
And the best special teams coach ever, who coached here but we didn't want, made a great scheme to block a punt that turned the game around had nothing to do with the win?
Look, I hate the Jets, but come on, its all about wins.

They are 2-0. They've played mediocre (Cowboys) & a bad team (Jaguars) and are not as good as the Patriots, but still. We lost to mediocre teams last season. They can beat them.
Don't see them going to the SB if Sanchez continues to play like he is, however the Jets will make the playoffs regardless, as long as they don't collapse a la 2008. The big issue is their running game hasn't helped out much. It's been defense and Romo/McCown. Still, Jets should be a playoff team.
But if their run game continues to struggle they could fall back. They get the Raiders, who have a poor defense, so they have time to fix it before facing the Pats, Chargers and Ravens.
I heard a great interview with him regarding the block. He said it was the only one in the playbook and that he was going to call it earlier, but something changed and he decided to wait. He also said he knew that unless Dallas executed their blocking to absolute perfection that they were going to get a free man in for the block. That play is what won the game. Westhoff will be sorely missed.
Back on topic. Sanchez sucks!
He hasnt shown himself at Fanhell. Maybe his sled hit a car.
Ok. What am I missing? The majority of the posters here feel Henne has been great so far (or if anything, good). Yet Sanchez, who has completed 63.2% of his passes to Henne's 53.2, has thrown one more TD and one more INT, has only 69 less passing yards AND a better QB rating is playing poorly?

Sanchez makes plays and his team wins. I'd take him over Henne. I liked Sanchez a lot coming out of college, he has his issues but he is a young player, he's going to make mistakes. He does seem to get awfully lucky at times as do the Jets but they take a lot of chances so you have to tip your hat to them. They play to win, we play not to lose. We are the worst home team in football right now and thats just about makes me want to puke.

I don't think he's playing poorly, just not Super Bowl Caliber right now, which can still change. Basically, comparing him to Brady, Rodgers, Brees, Rivers, etc. He'll need to step up at some point if the running game struggles, and when the D faces a tougher offense.
I think Fitzpatrick is better than Henne and Sanchez right now, and I don't think Henne is playing better than Sanchez. They've both been good, not great. And if I had to pick between Henne and Sanchez for my team, I may go with Sanchez...but I think if you swapped the two not much would change between the two teams. I'd rather not have either.
I don't think Sanchez will ever have career numbers as good as Brady, Rodgers, Brees, or Rivers. But I think he is capable of having games where he plays as well as them. He showed last year that he can do more than manage a game. He won the Houston game when he threw an absolutely perfect pass to Edwards.

He played great in the Colts and Patriots playoff games and made some huge throws.
Do I think Sanchez is elite? No way. I don't think he will ever be. But I do think he is good enough to QB a Super Bowl winning team.
Kind of fitting ;)
Well, the Jets and the Bills are tied for second, because the Pats are first due to the divisional win.
3 way tie for first. And it was a joke.
Mark Sanchez will never be elite. Mark Sanchez will never be clearly above average. The guy is average-to-below-average. He's like a 7-9 team that might go 9-7 with some luck.
Yep, still sucks.
Last night is what happens to Sanchez when the conditions are not PERFECT. If his o-line is healthy, and the defense they play is not really good. he can win you some games. However, if he is faced with adversity, he crumbles. The guy is just not very good. He's in his third full season starting and he throws for:
11/35, 119 yards, 31.4%, 0TD, 1INT, 4 fumbles, 3 fumbles lost. Ouch!
That INT and 2 of the fumbles were returned for TD's.
I think Cris Collinsworth said it best early in the 4th quarter while replaying yet another hit on the QB: "I think Mark Sanchez has had enough." He got beat up out there.
To be fair, I'm not sure anyone would have looked great against those Ravens last night. They were in beast mode. I'm sure Sanchez is pretty bruised and sore this morning.
yeah...... I am not watching the Dolphins-Ravens game. That is gonna be ugly.
