ESPN is going to have something on on the 49ers (I think) in the next hour. They said it's news about the Bears, Briggs, and a team who is going to be heavily penalized in this years draft.

I can only think it's going to be the 9ers with their tampering with Briggs.. Stay tuned.

Now on espn.. Reporting 49ers found guilty of tampering.

9ers loose 5th round pick and have to swap 3rd with Bears.

    UPDATE

It's pretty apparent that the San Francisco 49ers believe the evidence supplied at the hearing earlier in the week didn't support NFL commissioner Roger Goodell's finding that the organization was guilty of tampering, according to the Santa Rosa Press Democrat. Sources claim that the only evidence against the 49ers were records of two "missed" phone calls to Lance Briggs' agent, Drew Rosenhaus. There are indications that the 49ers defended themselves, saying they were calling Rosenhaus because of an interest in re-signing recently released receiver Taylor Jacobs.

San Francisco won't appeal this decision, and plan to put yesterday behind them, while moving on with draft preparations. However, If this story is true, the benchmark for tampering charges has certainly been lowered.

Kinda hard to believe they wouldn't appeal if they had a solid case. Draft picks are pretty valuable.
