This guy was a terrific player for the Falcons and would have had a huge extension if it weren't for his unfortunate injury. Now, coming off the injury, he has put together an amazing and close to perfect season for the Dolphins after so many had counted him out (His own team offered a cheap contract). Seriously, the only player I ever see mentioned for comeback player of the year is Phillip Rivers, and I really think Brent Grimes should win it, or at least be in the discussion. If it were last year with Manning and Peterson then it would be no question, but no major player made that impact this year. Brent Grimes for Comeback Player of the Year!!

Yup, absolutely agree. I don't think he'll win it, but he absolutely should be in consideration.

i agree with you all, he actually could win it and offer him 4/30, even if he is declining he could be a great mentor for young corners
-
Its a great point. He should at least be considered a finalist for it.

I think Brent Grimes would laugh at 3/25 or 4/30.
I'd be willing to give him 3/36. He's going to want an AAV of at least 11-12m per year.
I want him back. I want hin to be Comeback Player of the Year too. He deserves it. He's been very good. -

I hope I am wrong about Grimes not being a Dolphin in 2014, but I just don't have any confidence that Ireland will do what it takes to sign Grimes to a long term contract. -
You guys are severely over thinking that contract. No chance he gets 11 mil a year. Last year Sean Smith, a 26 year old, got a 3 year 18 mil. 2 years ago Brandon Carr, a 26 year old, got a 5 year 50 mil.
I could see Miami going all in on like a 2 year 18 mil deal. MAYBE 3 years 25.TooGoodForDez likes this. -
For the record. I'd much rather see a 3 year deal at about 21 mil. -
I see him getting a 3 year deal here and cheaper than 11 million a year. I have no problem seeing him walk if it's 100% about the most money, this team needs to spread the money more evenly to maintain multiple high end players to reach the point of a winning team to contend in Super Bowls.
Grimes is a lot of player in a small package and I hope he is here a few more seasons.
My son calls him Mighty Mouse when he makes a good play. -
