I love confidence without being cocky. You can tell that is one confident guy, but a guy that knows he has to work to be the best, not just rely on his abilities.

This guy keeps surprising me with some of his catches,The kid not scare either because he has taken some nice hits and held on to the ball.

 

He is the reason why Camarillo is expendable.
I think he can be a very good no.2 for us.

i like hartline. he shows tenacity and fire when he plays. you watch him and you know he isnt half @$$ing it.

wouldnt surprise me one bit if he broke out like miles austin did. maybe he wont shine quite as bright as austin did this past season, but i expect him to over achieve and impress. i think i recall reading something last season about him not letting any balls hit the ground in training camp. he made the active roster before turner did. he evenetually took ginn's starting spot when ginn was struggling and hartline was producing.

seems like a smart, level headed, hard worker. i really liked what he had to say in that last answer too.

Im rooting, but I dont think he will be the "playmaker" some are expecting here. He has intangibles sure, but he doesnt have the tangibles of a Miles Austin. Sorry folks, he just doesnt.

He could be a very solid WR for us for years to come, but I still dont feel good if hes the #1 option. As a #2 option I would be happy, but he needs a stud across from him to allow him to really do damage.

im not expecting him to lead the afc like austin did the nfc last year. i mean more along the lines of him out working and out shinning people expected to keep him off the field.

Dallas had the luxury of developing Austin because they had TO and Witten. As much as I hate TO, he was still an excellent WR at that time. We have nobody on our team with the ability of those 2, not even close. We can afford a developmental project guy at a spot like, oh say Running Back. Wideout? Erm, not so much.

Ill even go back to my point in the other thread about maximizing. Hartline would be maximized by having a stud across from him. Single cover Hartline, let him operate, he can draw some blood. Put Revis and a safety on him? Meh.

Dont get me wrong, kids a good receiver and he can make some plays, but if your going into the season with him as the top option I think its not a good situation. Hes very much a Kevin Walter to Andre Johnson, an Anthony Gonzalez/Austin Collie to Reggie Wayne.

I think he would benefit tremendously from having a top echelon wideout on the other side of the field.

When you make Brian Hartline the focus of a defense, I think its much easier to make him dissapear than it would be someone of a higher caliber. Maximize, dont settle! :up:

 

Interesting that he has such respect for Ted Ginn. Maybe, just maybe Ginn isn't the bust that most everyone around here thinks...Maybe, just maybe he should be given a little more time to develop before you all continue to ostracize him so ruthlessly.

what Hartline has you can't teach ... but you can certainly see it in the way he plays the game.

don't think you could compare Austin and Hartline ... they seem like different types of WRs.

will Hartline become a 'star' ... who knows, but as 23 says -- he is undoubtedly making his bones!

he will make a very good complimentary WR on any team -- and i am most happy that he is here.

if TG had only half of his drive and tenacity ... we would have a very good set of WRs.
