Worth a look to help shore up Dolphins OL? 6 time Pro Bowler including 2011 for the Pats- when we should have signed him.

"Amid a report that the Cowboys have ended their pursuit of free-agent guard Brian Waters because Waters, in the assessment of the Cowboys, “just doesn’t want to play football,” a league source with knowledge of Waters’ thinking tells PFT that Waters wants to play — in the right situation."

Right situation means a superbowl team. I don't think the Dolphins would be high on his list.

We're as good as the Cowboys but offer a chance to payback New England for being cheap. Do it JI! You should be on this yesterday.

I think it hilarious that he doesn't want to play for Dallas.

He spurned us once. But with the Carpenter cut... And if Keller is waived injured would we have the money to make an offer Waters couldn't refuse?

I think you see if Jerry or Louis can emerge by the end of preseason and if not you bring Waters in for the week before the first game, hoping to work him into the lineup by week two.

Jerry and Garner will be back, and Dallas Thomas should be adequate at OG by midseason.

Guard isn't where the need is. Right now, if the Dolphins lose Clabo or Martin, the season could be over.

The Dolphins need depth at OT.

Nate Garner and Dallas Thomas are not NFL OT's.

Don't forget about Will Yeatman. Yeah we need some stability- depth wise and starter wise- at OT but every current option at RG is questionable at best. Who should we have there? Maybe Brian Waters. Maybe former Dolphin 6ht rd pick Donald Thomas, who is starting for the Colts and protecting Andrew Luck. We waived him, but apparently he's good enough now for a 4 year $14 million contract. Maybe Wade Smith. We drafted him in the 3rd round and he's a starting Guard for the Texans, good enough to be a Pro Bowler last year. We've been devoting quite a bit of time and resources to the OL for a while now, going back to Satele and Grove, and what we have to show for it is a big mess.

Btw I sure do like what I've seen out of Dion Jordan, but I hope that his shoulder is ok, especially considering that with the traded 2nd rd pick to Oakland we could have had Menelik Watson, imo a nearly ideal candidate to start at RT and a guy who could very possibly handle LT as well.

I thought he was just plain retired.

If he's not, yes you do give him a sniff. The RG position has been too much of a problem to afford not investigating him.

Brian Waters has physically diminished, but I'd be quite comfortable with pass protection here if he was the right Guard.
