Dolphins identify Jordan Cameron as Plan B if Charles Clay gets away http://wp.me/p14QSB-9J88

love camerons talent and size but man he could be the tight end version austin collie.
-
Both are guys I love.
I don't love Jordan Cameron's concussion issues. There's a moral hazard involved in being a part of what happens to him if he keeps taking them. But if the doctors clear him and say they're not an issue, then so be it. But if you have to start seeking 2nd and 3rd opinions because your doctors aren't on board...again, moral dilemma.
Brice McCain is a very good value play.Sceeto, Bpk and Colorado Dolfan like this. -
Brice McCain isn't much better than RJ Stanford. Why pay McCain??
And I would rather draft Bobby McCain with a late round pick than pay Brice.http://www.gotigersgo.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/bobby_mccain_753968.html
If we are going to acquire another little CB let's please not pay too much. How about acquiring a corner who is a strong run defender as well. I know that is Jamar Taylor but he has serious durability issues; he can't be relied upon. -
Jordan Cameron is a WR. Why even label him a TE.
I would absolutely love it if the Bills make an outlandish offer for Clay and the Dolphins end up acquiring Jordan Cameron and then draft Jesse James. Would be a dream come true.dolphin25 likes this. -
i have my doubts that any doctor can diagnose Cameron and tell the team that he's unlikely to continue to have more discussions. but if we lose Clay, I guess it's worth the risk. Maybe for once we actually get lucky and he can stay relatively healthy. certainly would be an upgrade in the redzone over Clay ,what I've been pining forever for

I don't see any downside in signing Cameron to a shorter "prove it" contract. If he can get back to where he was, we're better off with him than we were with Clay. If not, then we move on and find a new TE next year. I see no moral dilemma in signing the man to continue to play football if that's what he wants to do. Taking that choice away from him is what's immoral.

How about thay AZ tight end who can't block worth a flip. Big guy, ran in the 4.4s I believe? Only one TD in his career, but man, measurables are something.
I may be way off on that 4.4 time, but I read an article somewhere that an AZ TE was available. Arians prefers a blocking TE and this guy is not it. -

I really like Jordan Cameron. More so than Charles Clay tbh. He's a better receiver with better physical tools and size. Anyone who can catch 80 balls, 900 yards, and 7 TDs with the trio of Hoyer, Weeden, and Campbell has got skills. Factor in the price tag, and it's an upgrade all around.
-
I don't think hes a lock in stud - but hes someone you'd love to see sitting as a #3 situational with a chance to become your 1 or 2....especially as young as 21 going into the season. -
In 2012, PFF named Brice McCain was named a "secret superstar." Played well in Pitt. Might be terrific under the radar signing.

Bills going to give Clay an offer today or tomorrow. Going to give him a big offer and stack the first year of the deal so it will make it very difficult for the Dolphins to match. Browns are also interested. Clay is in Buffalo and is even looking for places to live there. Looks like he is good as gone. Fine with me though. Can't imagine paying the guy who has largely just been potential so far $9 or $10 million a year. Cameron I think is an upgrade when healthy and I don't see him getting the money Clay is. And it's not like Clay isn't injury prone either. Win win here. Upgrade tight end and save cap space. Cameron was a beast when he had guys like Weeden throwing to him.
-
I think the reason why Clay will get big money is because the Dolphins put the tag on him hoping no one would match it and now the Bills are so high on him they are driving up the price. Don't see Cameron or any other tight end getting this kind of money. I say good bye Clay.

Brice McCain is better than for which he's being given credit.
I've watched a fair amount of tape on this player and he is FAST as hell, and not only that but he's quick, agile and balanced. He has that look that he moves around like he's controlled by a joystick. He can play the slot and play it very well.
He seems like he might be a revelation in Coyle's style of coverage, off-man, cover four, fire zone. He played a lot of fire zone in Pittsburgh so he's familiar with that.
Where I think you get into trouble with him is putting him in press-man on the line and then having him defend the field vertically against bigger receivers. But Coyle's scheme seems like it helps smaller corners to stay competitive against bigger receivers.vmarcilfan75 and Tannephins like this. -
Is McCain replacing Robinson? Or are they hoping to get both?

Plus, Cameron made a cameo on The League. So...I don't have anything football relevant. Just wanted to say The League is great.

I like Cameron a lot.
I'd be ok with McCain so long as he is a nickle package guy, but if they are looking at someone his size for the starting CB2 spot, then I'd be a little nervous about our CB plan.
