As of January 1st, 2009 Bill Bruford will no longer be touring with any of his projects/bands nor will he be recording any music. I'm late to this news (obviously) but wish to share it with those who have heard the familiar drumming style. Bruford is an influence of mine and this is sad news for me to hear.

From Yes, to Crimson, to Earthworks, to Genesis live, to other variations of music and projects Bruford's drumming is very distinctive. His snare has a certain pop to it amongst very unusual sounds that he has come to use over the years one way or another.

The other reason I have for posting this thread is that he has started a music-type blog in which he answers incoming questions: from the music he made to bands he's toured with to advice for drummers.

    This is the first blog.

edit: for those that don't know the music here is the discography from his official site.
