This is a great deal for both teams IMO if the Bills draft well. Eagles got a Pro Bowl player at a very hard position in the NFL. The Bills got some quality picks and may turn that into 2 or 3 starters. This draft is loaded with tackles so this was probably one of the better drafts to try and get a tackle. Its very much a gamble however if they get an above average OT and another starter than its a very good trade for both teams. I know the Bills are having money troubles and that probably had somehting to do with this trade. Peters is going to try and make a huge payday. Every team in the AFC East had a great LT until this move so it will be interesting how this affects them in the first season.

Peters was pretty bad last year. Got in Pro-Bowl on rep alone. The guy was a fat, out of shape malcontent. Buffalo wins by virtue of losing this bum. Of course, they added Owens, so they are far from cancer-free, so to speak.
Getting a first rounder + a fourth for this slob is highway robbery. Maybe the first rounder will be the next Thurman Thomas. Maybe (hopefully) it will be the next Jon McCargo.PENNSYLVANIADOLPHAN likes this. -
Wow, this is a great deal for the Bills IMO. Theyre getting quite a bit in return for him.

Eagles-Bills about to trade?
The Bills and Eagles have reportedly come to an agreement about Jason Peters. For his services, the Eagles will reportedly give the Bills the 28th pick in the draft, as well as a 4th round pick and an unknown pick in 2010's draft.
Having linking issues but its on ESPN website. -
As far as this trade goes, it gives Buffalo with some serious ammunition, but also leaves a gaping hole. Even with peters, their line was horrid, now they are losing their by far best OL. They will have some serious work to do on their line.
Peters is a great LT, one of the top 5 in the NFL ... when he wants to. He held out of camp and had some injuries and just didnt play that hard this past year. But if he can get motivated in Philly they got a total stud. As long as he gets his money I guess.
As for the Bills, it will be interesting to see if they sit at 12 and hope one of the big 4 fall to them, youve got to think at least Oher and Andre Smith will be around. This could also make the Lions think twice about passing on Jason Smith at #1 if there is another suitor for a top LT they might not have an elite prospect left at 20 and have to "settle" for a Britton. -
the most overrated LT in the NFL.
