Panthers says further tests on Cam Newton reveal he has 2 transverse process fractures in his lower back and no further internal injuries. -
Anyone with medical knowledge know the extent of that injury? Surgery? Rehab?
-
those little things that stick off your vertebrae are transverse process, so he's got cracks in two of them. like byroan said, it's not that serious, but very painful. In some cases you require PT but it depends on the extent of it. it takes a ton of force to break those and if this is the only injury he has back there, he is extremely lucky.
He'll be a back brace and on some pain med for a bit, but thats about it.
I was hoping they were taking him to one of our hospitals in Charlotte, but they took him to Presbyterian, which we are in negotiations to acquire.. -
