Every week it seems a new thread pops up for Wake(not sure if there's one this week? sorry if there is). And every week he gives us something to talk about. He was the one who wrapped up Brady about to sack him that made Brady throw it to Crowder for the game sealing INT.
He leads the team in QB pressures yet is still not being used often. Will we FINALLY see more of him next week? We go through this every week. Great win though, but still! Where's the love for Wake?

the guy probably can't cover at all. He's probably not too great against the run either.
he's a phenomenal talent when pass rushing but that might be all he is. Course the only people who would know that are the coaches. Still, its great to have a guy making plays despite limited opportunities. Keeps him hungry. -
Sparano said in the postgame PC that he knows he isn't using him enough and needs to do a better job getting him into the game. I don't know why it's so hard to do but hopefully he starts.

when he learns to play the outside linebacker position we will see more
he is a situational pass rusher for now
i love what i see from him

He got a great jump on that final play. I love watching him play.

Cam Wake on the edge though...
I'm feelin it, that dude is Freeney Jr, he coming, they all know it... -
What an incredible play he made. He showed he's more than just the speed rusher. He bull rushed and made that play. It was just an amazing play. Definitely need to find more ways to get him on the field.

It's very easy to just keep bullrushing and let yourself get taken too far from the QB to make a play. Cam bullrushed then stopped on a dime and changed direction and made the sack (well QB pressure on this one) the instant Tom Brady got into range.gunn34 and DolfanCole like this. -
And that final play was very indicative of this 'cause on the previous play, Wake tried the speed rush and was ineffective. -

I think strong offseason work and another training camp and he'll be in the lineup from day 1 next year. We knew he was a raw player coming in, he's making plays, he keeps doing that and they'll have to play him. You can take a few bad plays from someone that causes the kind of havoc he's capable of causing.

There was a video on Aquavision a week or two ago, and it was Jim Reid, if I am not mistaken, talking about Cam Wake and his first step. Tony was also talking about his incredibly fast first step yesterday in the post-game PC. I think his first step really gives him an advantage in those situation, they know he's coming and what he's going to do, he's just so fast off the ball.
FFS72, I can't imagine this guy after another training camp and strength conditioning. He already looks like he has 4% body fat, I think you can see muscles contracting in his face when he talks. He is a ball of muscle as it is. lol -
He was a man possessed on that bull rush. I watched him from the snap of that play. He would have moved a mountain to get to Brady. Then he was like a snake exploding towards it's prey when he jumped when Brady was in range, that suddenness i think suprised brady, most guys who get close probably sets brady's clock off to have about 2-3 seconds before he needs to get the ball out. His internal clock is usually like that.
But Cam's explosiveness off his blocker caught brady by suprise.
I actually don't mind the way Sparano has used him. it's usually a impactual part of the game. if we used him on most downs i don't know if he would have the same success at this point. But when he is in there and we know full well it's a pass he brings it. And comes up with gamechanging (game sealing in this case) plays.
There's a lot to absorb and be responsible for. The slow use of wake i think might end up being a good thing so he doesn't get overwhelmed with all the other reads and responsibilities he would have. Especially on downs with screen passes, draws, playaction. Using him too much against the pats he might have got fooled as they are very good at those kinds of plays. I think against Garrard we could see more of Wake.
But at least he's earned it. Sends a great message to everyone. Earn your stripes. Nothing is given on this team. In the long run i think his slow implementation into the regular defense will be a good thing for Wakes overall game.
There is no doubt we found gold while looking for an acorn with Cam.
EDIT: I wonder if Crowder bought him a dinner for forcing Brady to give up Channing's first INT. couldn't have got an easier one and it was all because of Cam's insane bull rush.dolfan7171, DolfanCole and Delfin Alejandro like this. -
Of course, probably the best way to get Wake on the field is to do better on 1st and 2nd downs. Having 3rd and short doesn't get him on the field. There needs to be obvious passing downs to get him on the field and stuffing them on 1st and 2nd downs sure does create more opportunities.

I don't really have much of an issue with his usage right now. We bring him in for critical plays, and he gets it done. A RT seeing him for the first time, at the end of the game, is a huge advantage in his favor.
I can only imagine how good Wake will be in a year...The Aqua Crush likes this. -

He needs work vs the run, in coverage, only has ne move, yada, yada, yada.
All I see when "El Toro" is in there is him wreaking havoc on the left side of our D. Pats saw it enough to double team him.
He does need to play more. JMO -

This guy is great. He is a younger Jason Taylor with some Dwight Freeney. He's a beast!!
