cam will not get fired. im tired of people saying he will or should get fired. he hasnt had a fair shot at coaching. i agree he hasnt made the best calls, but this is his first year. and for his record being horrible, you have to consider ALL of the injuries we have had this year. half of our starters are on IR right now. seriously. and most of them are our better players. if we had all of our starters i guarentee our team would look alot better and would have won more games than zero.
Keeping Cam as HC would mean Miami is not going to get better any time soon. Cam has a combined 18-49 (26.8 winning percentage) OUCH as a HC (college and pros combined). He has done NOTHING to earn the right to return. He completely botched the first 2 picks of the last years draft and you want him to have a say in who to draft again this year? Heaven forbid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He is a nice guy and decent assistant coach, but a HORRIBLE HC. Can him!!!!!!!!!!
I agree that Cam may be in over his head and might not be the guy we are looking for to coach this team in the future, but he did NOT botch the first two picks last year. First off, Cam didn't draft Ginn and Beck, Mueller did. Secondly, Ginn has been playing pretty good this year and shows signs of being pretty darn good. He is on pace for over 2000+ total yards and is starting to come on strong in the passing game. Ginn is turning out to be a good pick. As for Beck, you can't write him off after just three games. Most rookie quarterbacks struggle and Beck is no exception. Look, it took Drew Brees a few YEARS before he started to dominate. Give Beck some time before calling him a bust.
what this team needs is an offensive coordinator, as of now its Cam doing the OC...Capers doing DC. we need a new DC, an OC, and a special teams coach. heck, if Wayne wants to open his wallet, lets hire the Steelers defensive coordinator, and the Colts offensive coordinator. if Zach retires, well there u go...he can be our DC.
Bro there are so many question marks with Cam, play calling, time clock, using of personnel, staying with Lemon to long, delaying the development of Beck, not holding Dom accountable. He just looks like he is over whelmed. Not bringing in an OC. I think we need to rebuild with another head coach.
Hmm, it would be hard, really hard, to get a quality HC to come into miami as we now sit, and add in Mueller's contributions and any HC that couldn't stand not being their own GM would be ruled out quickly, a guy like Holmgren for example. Marty S is my guy, but as has been said, Marty may not want to show up Cam by taking the job, because if we fire Cam, after a 0-16 season, he will be lucky to coach SW Arkansas State...
And I'm tired of people saying that he should stick around...we've lost 6 games by 3 points or less, a decent COACH would find a way to win at least one game. All this b.s. about having injuries is a lame excuse. Look at Buffalo (just one example), they were devastated (much more than the Fins) with injuries, and look what they've done. Cameron seems to have fallen out of favor with a few of the veteran players and that does not bode well for his future. How do you motivate players when you don't get upset when they're not performing but just picking up a check?? Cam will be lucky if he's around much longer
Cowher supposedly doesn't want to coach next season either FFiC. Parcells said he doesn't want to coach, he wants to be a GM. That leaves Marty S as the last "proven winner" HC and he does want to coach in 2008. INOW, Cam may keep his job by default.
Bro Cowher says that now, but when the bucks come out, he may have to re-think that. Cam should be gone, he is way over his head.
I hear you Bro, these are the hazards of a rookie coach, on the + side, we have alot more young players contributing then we did before the season started. Who knows what will happen, "maybe" Wayne H decides he has seen enough?
I asked this in another thread...and it makes sense to ask it here as well. The only reasons I have heard to keep Cameron around is #1 Continuity, and #2 the lack of fault for the "cupboard" being so bare. Fine, I accept those as important and reasonable reasons. But, where is the ..."Boy, Cam made a great decison there" or we may have lost...but we really outcoached them..or...any other reason that might reflect the actual QUALITY of the Head Coach that Cameron is. I dont want to hear about the situation...I want to hear specific instance where Cameron has made a solid coaching decision, that reflects that he isnt over his head, and that he deserves more than this season.
Not concerned with the record, concerned with his approach. Unless he's an entirely different person behind closed doors, which is possible but I wouldn't bet on it, he doesn't have the vigor this team needs right now.
Can't Cameron If this guy goes winless he MUST be fired, He has shown nothing, now this Play calling genius has that bum Muck calling the plays? Ive been watching this team 25 + years and Ive watched every down this year and Ive never seen anything this bad, and now people dont even show up for practice? this guy has lost the team... If they get a win its because the players got it, NOT from his coaching or leadership ability, which hes showing he has none of... Hes a BUM, flat out... and like ive been saying to my friends If im wrong and we are super bowl champions in the future with Can't Cameron as the HC, then Ill be the first to eat my words and be VERY happy i was wrong.
Too bad for you, you're going to hear a hell of a lot more of it. And he might wind up getting fired...he certainly deserves to be.
Yo relax.... One year is not enough to evaluate a HC. Let give Cam another year to get it together. He is also suffering from stach era inability to draft quality players. I want to see what Cam does in year two.
When does the stach era finish? If by 2012, we still aren't competitive, are we still blaming Wannstedt? Pathetic. Detroit has suffered through the Matt Millen era, and they're competitive.
Since Millen's arrival in 2001, the Lions are 30-78 and have lost 10 or more games each season. During the early part of Millen's tenure (2001-2003), the Lions failed to win a road game for three years (0-24) before opening the season with a win at the Chicago Bears in 2004. Overall, the Lions are 8-46 on the road since 2001.[5] He has not made them very competitve IMO. They still are crappy and have dropped their last four games. He should get fired, cam is in his first season.
Zack just shut up man dont take it personaly but cam cameron i mean idiot he cant even get a victory yet come on this a pro team not college at least one victory. That tells you his not a good coach.
i say give him another chance all that starters have been hurt this year Ronnie Brown who was have a great year zach thomas whos the leader of our D-fence Y-bell who is a really good safty so i say give him one more shot and if the same happen next season i say he is gone
