3rd in AFC in sack efficiency  I can't wait until he gets a full year to show what he's got (Is 15+ sacks possible?)

I'm not certain what is more impressive, Wake's performance or the fact you managed to post that chart and it actually looks like a chart!
Bravo Sir, Bravo!dolfndav34, jetssuck and DolfanCole like this. -
He added alot of heat when he got in there however is that because he was fresh?
-
It appears Wake should probably be 2nd on that list. Antwan Odom didn't play a full season and he had 5 sacks in week 2 vs. the Packers going mostly against Darryn Colledge - the Packers starting LG who was forced into play LT when Chad Clifton got injured. Odom got hurt a few weeks later on, but he clearly isn't an elite pass-rusher.

Im not trying to take away anything from Wake, he's got alot of talent. But I'm sure coming into the game fresh, and at 100% and goin up against guys who have been battling all game has a bit to do with this.
Only one way to find out really, give him more playing time. We all know that is probably going to happen with Porter destined to be released.HULKFish likes this. -

2 sacks against All Pro LT Ryan Clady
1 sack against All Pro LT Joe Thomas
I'd say Odom was pretty elite in 2009. -
Wake played.....167 snaps with 5.5 sacks
Timmons played 817 snaps with 7 sacks
I may be insane but wouldn't Wake's numbers be more
efficient
Wake had a sack every 30.36 plays
Timmons a sack every 116.71 plays
Odom had a sack every 36.12 plays
To me Wake had the best sack % against plays run
and should be #1 -
Here's a little something to add to your point. Wake graded out as the #3 pass rusher in the NFL. Few were even close.
Look at the QB hits and pressures, aside from sacks. He did half as much in less than a third of the snaps.
As far as being fresh, he played ST's. Also, I've seen his pic, and would NEVER question his conditioning. LOLTheAnswer385 likes this. -
but can he be a 3-4 OLB? he had his hand on the ground most of the time he rushed, and he is not big enough to be a DE
I think he can serve as that 4th d-lineman type in Nolans defense, who most of the time gets his hand on the ground and just blitzes, but that exposes what we dont have, a cover LB, we need one ASAP
another thing is he needs to show he can play a full game before I'm completely sold, cause he usually came in well rested against ppl who had played the whole game, and his running defense is a big question mark, how does he shed defenders on the run, how does his pad level react to the lateral movement?
He is still a project, but I do have a lot of upside for him -
Wake wasn't a starter, he would have 15-20 plays all game
so that doesnt sell me on how he will handle starter duty
and he is not a DE, hes a LB so there are about 3 other LBs on the special teams, and 1 started for us -
Great post/thread, and darn fine graph! Wake will get a LOT more snaps with Porter gone and playing under Nolan, well it just makes me all tigly inside to think what Nolan can do with talent like Wake's got. Look at what he did with Dumerville, and you get my point.

but he has not proved as much as EVERYONE says, including ESPN
he needs to show he can bring it every play as a starter and defend against the run, just cause he can blitz doesnt mean its a one sided game
and believe it or not, a lot of NFL players look like that...some do it with roids, but still haha -
and about me saying hes not big enough for a DE...well for a 4-3 he can be...just like u said about Jason Taylor
but as a 3-4 End??? no way!!!!
so I see him as that 3-4 OLB in Nolans system that kinda lines up like a 4-3 end who usually blitzes -
I have said it from the beginning,
when the guy was nothing more than
a blip on the radar in SouthFlorida:
Wake is the RealDeal & next NFL SackMonster -
Cameron Wake fans will REALLY like this:
Edit: Resizing... -
Finally, here... I met him. At a gun store no less....

He's gonna beast next yr. and the best is since we couldnt get rid of porter(hopefully we will) he has to sit on the bench and watch the yung'n ballout.

This may be off the wall but I would really like to see if Wake could play some ILB for us. We could rreally use some explosiveness from that position and I think he could do it. Whether or not he could play the run on third down or drop in coverage is a big ? but I have faith inn that Penn St education.
We don't need a DE any way so it don't matter if Wake is the right size.
Try him at ILB, he can't be that much worse than Akhy breaky tackley -
the guy is a physical freak of nature, all about football & a total beast. he could play anywhere
