With another 1.5 sacks... Wake has moved to the top of the charts for sacks on the season, passing Clay Mathews who was shut out against the 49ers. Hes also leading the league in holding calls against, and is either 1st or 2nd in the league in QB hurries. In another dark day for the Fins... he continues to be a bright spot.
He's a heckuva player. I know he's 28 and I'd hate to see a lockout take away one of the years in his prime.
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo...noooooooooooooooo..we went through this crap with Jason Taylor "the team may suck but JT shined..." **** that noise.
Holy hell if you don't like the thread then don't have any part of it. Go on to the doom and gloom threads and ***** about the same things everyone else is *****ing about then.
Come on man, Cameron Wake's story is a little different than Jason Taylors. I'd be rooting for Cameron Wake if he was a Seahawk or a Texan. The fact that he's in the NFL, making plays when no one else said he could, that's just awesome. I hope he has the time of his life in Hawaii and a big fat contract from Ireland when he gets home.
Hes playing fantastic and really breaking out. Just b/c our offense blows *** doesnt mean we cant recognize the young players that are really emerging on this team. If you dont like it... get out of the thread.
This guy seems to alter almost every play, his motor is incredible. If we can find 1 more DE or LB in FA or the draft that can get pressure on the QB, we could have an elite D.
So, we're having this conversation at the tavern while watching the game today. And, the question is brought up as to who is the team's MVP to this point in the season. And, I say it's a toss up between Bess and Wake. Honestly, I'd have a hard time deciding between the two. But, this much I know...Wake is "The Beast!"
Don't misunderstand FN, I am happier than probably anyone else over Wakes' performance I was pimping for him when 99% of dolfans had no idea whom he was (do a search..) however Wake himself would tell you if he could have had -0- sacks and won the game he would have been completely happy. I fear there is a danger in turning Wake into JT pt II, team loses, but Wake got his, the Dolphins should be bigger than that by now imho, instead we collapsed under 3 int's and it just makes me sick to my stomach.
Well great if he would take 0 sacks but get the win. Might as well say that about every positive topic then, and theres no point discussing anything b/c hey... whatever they did that was positive they would give up for a win. Its a message board to discuss things about our Fins. This is a thread talking about Wake and the emergence of it. If you dont think it should be discussed b/c we lost... then dont discuss it and dont post in the thread. Let the people that want to talk about it talk about it...
ive been thinking the same thing. i really want to concentrate on upgrading the oline and adding one or two playmakers but if we can get a pass rushing beast to pair up with wake?
You mean the offense's left? I think he gets more opportunities on the left (defense's) against the right tackle by design. But I think he's pretty darn good rushing from either side.
I don't see any problem praising the man even with the team's failure to succeed. He's played well and deserves some credit. Same as when JT deserved credit when he won DPOY on a 6-10 team.
Haha, was he really? I remember on a play where Langford or McDaniel got pressure on the other side, Misi tried to speed to the side and dip his shoulder like Wake does and let's just say Joe Thomas was having none of it...it will definitely be sore for Mr. Misi tomorrow.
I hate to say it but this guy is becoming one of my favorite players in the NFL not in a Jets uniform. He made the best out of opporunity. Some people in this league need to do the same thing.
