Good read, I like what Wake has to say. http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/...ns-cameron-wake-0112-20100111,0,1156419.story
That's a good analogy...and seems to be exactly what is missing from Ginn...that confidence or arrogance that a truly 'great' player needs to have. He's got the tools but needs the intangibles to show up...
You know I really hope in 2010 Wake gets a starting position. In his little time in 09 he showed Major flashes of stardom. He was a force on limited plays. If we let him play more he will continue to grow. At least give him the opportunity in camp to win a starting role and let the pieces fall where they may..
I like Wake's attitude. And that's exactly what it takes to be a Pro Bowler or better in this league. We know he can pass rush, we just have to find out if he can play the run and drop back in coverage. Only time will tell. But I have a feeling that Cameron Wake is going to be a special player.
I've noticed a reluctance on the FO's part to replace someone as a starter or reduce their playing time. They tend to stick with their guys even if they are doing badly over a long period of time. Look how long before they cut Ernest Wilford or reduced Ted Ginn's playing time. They are very conservative on personnel decisions. Don't be surprised if he doesn't get a lot more playing time till halfway next season.
I hope he doesn't think that just getting bigger and faster will help out. He needs to work on things like technique and playing in space.
