http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/06/28/aaron-rodgers-peers-say-hes-the-nfls-best-player/ Stoopid! Yet Jason Babin is ranked 44th...
You gotta be fu&$ing kidding me.. What a bunch of douchebags..They need to retract that sh&$ ASAP.. Man that pisses me off..irresponsible ignorant journalism on their part..Just goes to show you that it was all just a fluff piece to get viewership and that hacks were in charge of putting together the list.
Somebody should tweet Solomon Wilcotts, he works for that stupid network and is doing a special on wake for them..Jason Babin at 44 and no wake..lol..
It's a really bad list and I don't think it has much of a purpose other than to prompt angry reaction. Tebow, Pouncey, and Kuhn being on that list are pretty amazing though.
What's scary is it's the players who made this list. Also shows they all probably don't have a strong preservative of the whole league and other players which makes sense since they have little time in the season to do so.
Wake missing is mind boggling.. however if they weregoing strictly on last years play I also wouldn't put Jake as high as 59..
Wow...even if you look at individuals, Chris Long over Cam Wake ?? I don't see that, not that Long didn't finally have a year that befitted his draft status, but over Cam ?? Chris Johnson and John Kuhn over Reggie Bush ?? Johnson is a better rusher than Bush, but not last year.... Bush had more yards, TDs and YPC than both... Just another popularity contest...
I see several names I wouldn't think should be in the top 100. I would have expected Wake to be on the list. Peyton Manning didn't even take a snap must be Madden.
Yes, the players vote on the top 100. This is just proof that NFL players are extremely shortsighted.
I think we are misreading the title of this list. Actually, it reads "100 NFL Players We've Heard Of"
I think this is basically a popularity list compiled without much thought by the players. It is an obvious oversight. Cam Wake has only been around the NFL for a few years and perhaps he has not made many friends or made the rounds of invitational golf competitions or other events where players meet . I would bet the less deserving players on that list are the gregarious popular types .
Yeah, the Chris Long over Cam Wake is absurd. Other passrushers rated higher than Cam: Dwight Freeney Derrick Johnson Lance Briggs Elvis Dumervil Justin Tuck Trent Cole Von Miller What a joke!
This list is just the biggest organized troll on the NFL fan base. The NFL network is unwatchable this time of year because of that ****ing list. Anytime you turn it on they're replaying shows about it over and over and over again, and NFL Network talking heads dissecting every little aspect of it about who was snubbed or rated too high or too low. Do yourself a favor and ignore the NFL Network and this list this time of year.
Derrick Johnson and Lance Briggs aren't pass rushers. They're linebackers. Here are the real pass rushers that were ranked above Cameron Wake: DeMarcus Ware Terrell Suggs Jared Allen Jason Pierre-Paul Julius Peppers James Harrison Tamba Hali Elvis Dumervil Justin Tuck Trent Cole Von Miller Lamarr Woodley Chris Long Clay Matthews Jason Babin Just keep something in mind. Among them, only Dwight Freeney, Justin Tuck, James Harrison and Clay Matthews had fewer sacks than Cam Wake. Everyone else got to the quarterback more than Cameron did in 2011. And there are guys like John Abraham, Robert Mathis, Aldon Smith, Brian Orakpo, Chris Clemons and Jabaal Sheard that have just as much (if not more) right to be upset at their lack of inclusion on this list as Cameron Wake.
Pro Football Focus has Wake listed @ 16th in their rankings that just came out today. No other Dolphin made the list. https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2012/05/03/the-pro-football-focus-top-101-players-of-2011/ They also have him listed as the most productive edge rusher over the past 3 years. http://www.profootballfocus.com/blo...-of-pass-rushing-productivity-edge-rushers-2/ Hopefully, the new scheme will put him in a better position to get more opportunities.
There is only 1 defensive player in the AFC east I would take over Cam Wake...One., fu&$ everyone else.,but he shouldn't be on a top 100 list...crap list..
You might not agree, however there is a good argument that he is. He did lead the league in rushing last season with 4.7 yards per carry and have 1,300 yards the two season before.
My thoughts exactly.. vonta leach at 45...#smh. I should move this to out of bounds and infrat PFT for trolling.
He's really good, and I've Been defending his status a lot, really no weakness in his game, highly polished, good size and speed, just very precise in all his movements, not to many folks agreed with me that I would take him over Marshall..but your right top 20 sems a bit strange, especially with the impactful defenders in the league.
Maybe it will serve as motivation, but if it were me, I'd realize that any list that ranks Jason Peters over Jake Long is not worth being on. Whatever.
Makes me think that actual statistics are valued a little more highly by the players. For all the back and forth about Wake not being on the list, he was only 12th in the AFC, not the NFL, just the AFC, in sacks last year. That's behind guys like Connor Barwin, Robert Mathis, Antwan Barnes, and Elvis Dumervil. http://espn.go.com/nfl/statistics/player/_/stat/defense/sort/sacks/league/afc Looking at the total NFL list, he's only tied for 26th, and is one of three guys in that top 26, along with Dumervil and Woodley, to not have a forced fumble. http://espn.go.com/nfl/statistics/player/_/stat/defense/sort/sacks At some point the list had to stop including pass-rushers, and after looking back through it, I have a hard time arguing that Wake should be on the list over some of the other pass-rushers. Over some of the other players at different positions, sure, but over other pass-rushers, not so much.
Personally I think he shoudl be one the list. But the consternation about him not being on it is kind of ridiculous. He's good but he's not a lock for top 100, and there are other pass rushers that were left off the list that probably have as much right to be upset as he does, if not more.
