I understand the whole "measurables" when it comes to draft prospects ... but it still blows my mind this kid went undrafted
Totally agree. I really want a Bess jersey for this season. I love rooting for this guy. The under dog that kept at it even after not getting drafted. Hope he is here for a long, long time.
Bess is one of my favorite Dolphins, basically because of how hard he has worked to contribute to this team, the class he's done it with, and the reliability he has shown on 3rd down to convert. How can you not like this young man? I want to see him go over 100 catches this year so we can all forget about Wes Welker once and for all.
as with everyone else i really like bess with marshall on the field i think he will get a lot more looks and have a great year.
I'm hoping Bess makes a jump, with Marshall clearing out for him he'll have a lot more room to work. He just needs to stop jumping in the air when the ball arrives, and he definitely needs to stop fumbling. This line was funny: "In terms of speed, Bess isn’t thought of as a burner that can get behind the best defensive backs like Welker can". Welker run's past the best DBs? News to me.
No matter how much i love to see us pound the rock, i'm so excited to see this air attack open up and really start carving up some D's
I love the kid...Great find. We must remember tho,for every Bess there is a Pat White. I mean,it's a crap shoot for the most part.
I'm a little worried about Bess because while yes he led the team in receptions last year, he also led the team in another category... fumbles. 6 fumbles in 106 touches. Ricky Williams had 5 fumbles, but out of 276 touches. Even Anthony Fasano, who destroyed any offensive momentum with two fumbles lost in the season opener, didn't put the ground again for the next 15 games. Bess can't put the ball on the ground or he will not be as trusted as someone like Camarillo. I don't trust Bess as the punt returner, can't turn the ball over back in your own territory. I'm not trying to be a negative nancy or poop on Bess, I think his journey has been remarkable and his quick success after being undrafted is inspirational, and I agree he has potential to break out even more with Marshall on the field. Great find by the team when they were figuring out what to do with guys like Derek Hagen and Brandon London. Just looking at Bess through a different pair of glasses for a minute and playing devil's advocate... Sparano won't put up with frequent fumbler miles for very long.
