Wish the guy well, in the end this is likely for the best. No worries of the locker room being split, no resentment, just a fresh start.

He has potential, but needs grooming. Love his passion and I wish him all the best at his next gig.

So long Dan Campbell. You won't be happy unless you're out there going Mach 2 with your hair on fire. Thanks for 5-7 and probably ruining Miami's chances of re-signing Lamar Miller but we'll always have this picture of you arriving in New England for that first Pats game. Thank you.

He was a good guy who stepped into a world of ****. He did admirably all things considered. Wouldn't surprise me at all if he's a successful head coach some day.

What Metallica song do we give him now?
Through the Never?
The Unnamed Feeling?
Shoot me Again? (typical Dolphins fan)
The End of the Line?
The Day that Never Comes?
Broken Beat & Scarred ()
The Memory Remains?
Slither (that could be Saban's departure song)
Wherever I May Roam....
It's amazing how many songs are applicable...RoninFin4 likes this. -
Dan will have multiple suitors out there. I expect him to end up in New Orleans, and he will be on the head coach candidate lists within the next 3 years. I think the guy has great potential as a head coach. He wasn't pushed by the media, so fans buy into the idea that he's not ready. However, he did as well as you could expect someone to do when he wasn't prepared for the role he took on, and this wasn't a staff of his choosing.

He'll probably wind up in Buffalo of all places since Rex wanted to hire him before.

He was put in an impossible situation, i dont think he ever imagined the opportunity he received. Now he can prepare himself better for the next opportunity.

Did anyone seriously think he would stay?

Is a mistake for the FO not to have made this work with him and Gase.
I don't want to hear about split locker rooms either.
If they got these two to buy into working together then they'd handle the locker room.
We have ways of not finding ways to make things work in this organization. -
Honestly if Dan Campbell were retained, people would be complaining about Ross and Tannenbaum at the first hint of locker room tension. People would say say that they always keep guys from past regimes and "when will they learn?"
I guess it's damned if you do damned if you don't.Paul 13 likes this. -
Campbell isn't ready to be a HC yet. I thought he did a good job with a horrible situation. He had a depleted roster, not even a serviceable OL, position coaches for coordinators and he managed to motivate these players to win 5 games. I thought when Philbin was fired that we had a shot at going 2-14 to 3-13. He will be given a shot as a coordinator then as a HC in a few years. Hopefully the clowns running our organization didn't burn the bridge.

When Gase is let go of after a couple mediocre seasons, and his replacement gone too after a couple more, the Dolphins should hire back Dan Campbell to be head coach , who will be more seasoned for the position by that time.
