Guy offers absolutely nothing for us. Superior blitz pickup lol Get Miller in there it can't possibly get worse.

I'd add Nanee to the same group but there's obviously a million threads for that already.

I don't think we should be completely done with him but a demotion is I order. He needs to be benched.

At this point Thomas is what he is. A serviceable backup. Reggie Bush is the present and Lamar Miller is the future.

Nope, I've been ****ting on him since we drafted him and I think it's painfully obvious to everyone by now that his role should be on the bench.

I think its more to do with what Lamar Miller has flashed and giving him deserved opportunities.

Thomas doesn't play to his size and seems to lack vision. He's leaving yards on the field.

I think they're pumping a dry well with him unfortunately.

Thomas runs small and is not a servicable backup. I really thought he would be like Eddie George before Ray Lewis stole his football soul. DT has shown nothing that makes me think he will be any better than a 3rd back who better contribute pretty damn big on ST.

He's a backup half back, a pretty average one IMO. If I may, what'd you see today that made to want to restate your position on him?

He hasn't done a damn thing this season to show he deserves to be the #2 back on this team. I expect Miller to get a heavier workload from here on out as Reggie's backup.

I'm just trying to think of what he brings to the table. Javorskie Lane looks more than serviceable in short yardage/goal situations.

****ty blitz protection and more dancing while running with zero authority.

I mean how much more does anyone need to see?

He's a waste of space when he's out there.

LMAO. Dropping the ball isn't enough, he has to catch the ball and hold it JUST long enough so that when he does drop it's a friggin fumble. What should of been a TD for us turns into AZ's ball inside our 5 yard line. Without anyone even coming close to touching him. Say what you want, but I have a lot of respect for Nannee. It takes a lot of talent to suck that bad.

I would love to know what Lamar Miller has done. He shows me nothing.
Speed doesn't mean a whole of a lot when you baby step into the hole.
Seems everyone thinks he is real good but when he gets out there Miller really isn't any better.
He hasn't developed at all and still lacks the smarts to grasp the playbook and his protections.

But its not just Legedu. It goes back to the original post. Last week it was Daniel Thomas whom they continued to put on the field despite his being an established bad football player, and he had a costly fumble.

Dolphins need to wash out the bad players. They're sinking the efforts of good players.

agreed. Though I think you could say those same things about Miller and Bush as well. None of our backs had a good game, but the threat of the run and AZ's response to it is what made all of the passing yards possible IMO. I'm more concerned about our WRs.

Thomas isn't an established bad football player. Not sure how you can say that when he's so early in his NFL career.

I know but we've seen this with Thomas for how long now? Sure looks like the case is all but closed.

We know Miller at least offers more upside and the only supposed reason he wasn't on the field was bc of Thomas' superior blitz pickup (hahaha).

To be fair, Thomas also converted a couple of key first downs, including the one that led to Revis' ACL tear. Not a fan of his by any means but IMO if you put all 32 backup running backs in a room, he would be middle of the pack.

He's pretty established as showing poor instincts which result in negative plays. He needs to be benched until he stops showing these negative tendencies. He's not earned the playing time and chances he is continually given. It's ONLY given to him due to draft position.

I have to agree that Thomas needs to have a seat. Lane is a much better short yardage runner than Thomas, even if the ref's made an error in placing the ball on Lane's last run today. Thomas played well for two games in 2011. Since those two games, not much. Time to rely more on Lane in short yardage plays and give Miller more time as Bush's backup.

Maybe another team in need of a running back will give Ireland another sixth or seventh round pick for Thomas. Right now I would rather have another low round draft pick, than have Thomas in the Dolphins backfield.

His run I believe at the very beginning of the 2nd quarter, I saw him ignore a gap and run right into the crowd.

to me, it was as if he did it on purpose. Not that he missed a gap, but that he chose to pass up the gap and run into a pile of 3 players. It was that bad.

It's his second season in the league for Chrissakes. Was Bush anywhere near the player he is today in his 2nd season? Ditto for MOST NFL players.

I like Miller's upside as well but he's still struggling with the playbook, he was beaten out by an UDFA for the KR position, he doesn't run hard unless he sees a lane, and he's even worse than Thomas in blitz pick up.

Not when you're talking about running backs. Let's not get carried away with Bush either just yet.

So use Miller in space and with dumpoffs. I find it hard to believe he's that much worse w/the blitz.

Bottom line is Thomas needs to be on the bench for Miller/Lane.

To me, Daniel Thomss obviously isn't the guy that lost the game or anything like that lets be honest, but I just want to see a PURGE of players that are bad players. Not necessarily cutting (except in the case of Legedu Naanee), but more of a toppling, to see of we have solutions to these problems already on roster.

I've seen Bush play in the NFL and I can assure you that Thomas is no Reggie Bush, and he will never be a Reggie Bush. Thomas is what he is. A very mediocre back who plays much smaller than his size.
You have some valid points regarding Miller. These points though don't convince me that Thomas should get more playing time then Miller.

Tanneyhill is the starter because he is the future of the franchise and he is learning the QB position at the NFL level. I just think that Miller has more upside then Thomas and he should be getting the ball more than Thomas. That is just my opinion.
