Jake Delhomme (Tommy John surgery) and Jonathan Stewart (toe surgery) will be held out of the Panthers' first offseason minicamp. Both are expected to be fine for camp in late July. Stewart missing is no surprise. Delhomme has been throwing real footballs for about two months after using a nerf ball early in the offseason. He's believed to be on schedule, but Matt Moore figures to get the first-team reps this weekend. The Gaston Gazette believes Stanley McClover has a good chance to be the Panthers' starting right defensive end this season. You wouldn't know it by McClover's 2007 campaign. He was inactive for most games. McClover will compete in training camp with Charles Johnson and Tyler Brayton after Carolina neglected to address the position in the draft. Rotoworld.com
