[ame="http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=4257421"]Sources: Shaquille O'Neal-to-Cleveland Cavaliers trade not imminent - ESPN@@AMEPARAM@@http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=4257606@@AMEPARAM@@4257606[/ame] The talks failed during the season, now they apparently are striking up a discussion about making that move. Eh, depends, is Shaq "done" or about to be?
Shaq's presence alone is an upgrade for the Cavs. The thing I am wondering is... WTF. Is this the rent-a-shaq league? Can ANY team ****ing win without shaq? Soon we are going to see that none of the superstars in this league can win with out O'neil. I know that is an exaggeration, but I get a kick out of so many teams leasing shaq to get a championship. lol.
a MOTIVATED Shaq is a benefit. His bad work ethic rubs off on younger players...Cleveland is an older team so he would fit in great. Problem is that Cleveland would have to trade TRASH to get him because they have NOTHING of value that matches contracts and that they wouldn't need to win. it's desperation. If they are smart...they try to dump contracts to create space for next year and 2011. Adding 20 million to their cap is suicide.
They have Wally Szerbiak's contract to offer up, it's one of those NBA capology deals, and was the main issue "why" the Cavs did not pull the trigger during the season.
I wonder it that whole idea of Shaq coming to Cleveland is to ease LeBron's mind about looking elsewhere to play after next season.
They would still be about 13 million short. Will The Suns really just take a bunch of trash that they would have to eat for 2 years just to hook up Cleveland?
My question is, will Lebron suffer the same syndrome that Kobe suffered till now.... the idea that he can't win without Shaq. (Assuming that Shaq actually brings the cavs to the finals and wins).
