Saw this on Twitter ... I'm surprised it happened so fast. He looked awful on Monday night, but I figured he would get a shot to redeem himself.
Nathan Jones and Jason Allen will likely both make the team at CB ... and here I thought for sure Jason Allen would be a goner during camp this year. -
Saw this coming. I'm just glad they pulled the trigger early, unlike with Chris Crocker. I take this to mean they have confidence in Jason Allen as well.

Thank god. Good for the front office for acting quickly.

this actually surprises me. I thought he would have more chances
-
somewhat surprising but i think its really for the better.

wow I didnt see this coming, not this early.......
-
I think they will sign a veteran, just like they did with Conor Barth. Sean Smith is a rookie. If he realizes he has no competition, he will start to slack off. I know Vontae could steal it away from him, but its unlikely.
But its a good move since you will give the guys who will play some playing time
Caught me way offguard though
But its for the good. If he was getting burned by the Jaguar's 2nd string WR's, then he wasnt even good to be an injury backupTheAnswer385 likes this. -
He was awful. Its not like the Jags have great Wideouts either.

Colorado Dolfan ...dirty drownin' man?
Green was beyond bad on Monday, IMO.
They seem to have seen what a lot of us on here saw and decided to pull the trigger quick. -
so much for that chip on his shoulder

Wow, so does this mean that everyone who was watching Modi's stream was vindicated in chat when calling for his head?

I really don't think they'll bring in another veteran.
Jason Allen is on his 4th year and Nate Jones is on his 6th year. I doubt there is any one out there at this time better than who we already have.
Think of it this way. Green is cut, but Allen and Jones are still on the team.
I would not be surprised if Jason Allen (or maybe Davis) ended up as our 3rd CB behind Smith and Will Allen. -
The Mad Dod Jim Mandich says that the team has its periscope up, and may be looking at Ty Law.

As much as amything, I think this shows the confidence they already have in Super Sean......oh yeah, and that Green is really not very good.....at all :pity:

Wow, bit surprised this would happen so early. Figured he'd at least get another shot. Maybe he was lookin pretty awful in practice too though. Maybe this clears the way for a veteran free agent to be brought in in the next few days?
-
Not surprised at all what this team does anymore. We are in capable hands and I agrre with this move.
Just another motivational tactic by the big 3 to light a fire under the other DB's arses.
I recall being a bit shocked when they let go of our biggest Offensive weapon before last season,..........Jay Feely..........:wink2: Carpenter seemed to pick up his game as a rookie. What does this mean for Sean Smith?mullingan likes this. -

I think Miami will wait till the beginning of the season to bring a veteran in because then their contract won't be guaranteed
-
-
And whoever said pre season doesn't matter? LOL. just ask eric green. It will be interesting to see who they will list as the starter... vontae or sean smith. based on our first pre season game, it should be sean smith.

I would guess that right now the closer question is whether Davis is ahead of Jones and/or J. Allen.Eop05 likes this. -

An example had to be made. Make plays or find a job elsewhere.
You have to love how the front office operates, no-nonsense and they know what they are doing. Feels good to be a Dolphins fan.#1 fan likes this. -
